WINNING: Trump Accepts Kim’s Offer If Major Conditions Are Met

Elder Patriot – Weak-kneed beta-pundits who have derided President Trump’s aggressive posture towards North Korea went to sleep last night with egg on their faces.

On Tuesday, after meetings with their South Korean counterparts, South Korea’s National Security Director announced that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un appeared to have acquiesced on the issue of nuclear weapons:

“[North Korea] made it clear that while dialogue is continuing, it will not attempt any strategic provocations, such as nuclear and ballistic missile tests.”

“The North side clearly affirmed its commitment to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and said it would have no reason to possess nuclear weapons should the safety of its regime be guaranteed and military threats against North Korea removed.”

Trump wasn’t about to be duped in the same manner that Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama had been over the previous two-plus decades.

President Trump was well aware that Kim’s nuclear program is very near full development and he indicated that he is not going to let Kim use a period of negotiations as a delaying tactic in order to give his scientists time to bring the progam to maturity, as our previous presidents had done.

South Korean national security director Chung Eui-yong delivered Kim’s invitation to meet directly to President Trump at the White House yesterday.

According to Chung, the North also agreed to suspend nuclear and missile tests during such future talks — a longstanding US demand but one only Donald Trump held firm to.

Trump had made clear his demands through back-channel negotiations that a precondition of any talks to lift economic sanctions against North Korea and pull back on U.S. military threats to disarm the warmongering Kim, would be an agreement to denuclearize his war machine and to suspend development attempts while such talks were taking place.

Yesterday, Trump tweeted that Kim has agreed to both, or so it seems:

Unlike his predecessors in the White House, Trump tempered his optimism in another tweet an hour later:

Let’s put this in perspective; no previous American president has ever even met with a North Korean leader.  Every previous president to address the growing North Korean nuclear threat hid behind negotiators – usually through back channels – and had been quick to take credit for “finally” solving the problem.

They were seasoned politicians more interested in photo ops than they were in actually solving problems.  Trump is a businessman whose success stems from solving problems.

That is why his supporters voted for him.  And, that is why they will not abandon him.

The problem for establishment politicians – and, one of the reasons why they want him out at any cost – is that the more problems he solves the more their fecklessness and incompetence (or, treasonous behavior?) shows how expendable they are.
