Elder Patriot| Last night’s Democratic debate is evidence of what happens when you’ve built your party on racial division to achieve electoral success and the leader of the opposition party won’t play along.
Shame, shame, shame. Shame on you for voting for a better economy and law and order. You must be a white supremacist. The attempt to shame white voters and scare voters of color went on all night long:
This was all so predictable.
Immediately after Trump’s election, and out of policy bullets, Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri said, “If providing a platform for white supremacists makes me a brilliant tactician, I am glad to have lost. … I would rather lose than win the way you guys did.”
Right. If she’s so honest, maybe Palmieri can explain this:
Larry Elder explained that Palmieri was blowing smoke:
Fact: When Barack Obama took office in 2009, he had, with the exception of John F. Kennedy, the highest approval ratings, 68 percent, of any elected president since Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1953. It certainly appears that Obama was black or biracial back in 2009, just as he was black or biracial when his poll numbers declined.
Fact: In a nation that the Clinton camp believes teems with white supremacists, Obama, in 2008, got a higher percentage of the white vote than Democratic candidate John Kerry in 2004. But in 2016, whites came down with an acute case of what CNN’s Van Jones called “whitelash,” a reaction against, as he put it, “a changing country” and “a black president.” Now it is true that Obama did not get a majority of the white vote. But the last presidential election in which Democrats won the white vote was in 1964. The majority of voting white Americans don’t want a white Democrat or a black Democrat sitting in the Oval Office.
The fact is, no matter how the propaganda media tried to sugar coat it the economy was not doing well for average American workers, including for Blacks:
Towards the end of Obama’s second term, Megyn Kelly interviewed Tavis Smiley:
Megyn Kelly: “On the subject of race, are we better off today than seven years ago?”
Tavis Smiley: “On every leading economic issue, in the major economic issues, Black Americans have lost ground in every one of those leading categories”.
Steve Bannon, who served as Trump’s campaign chairman and then Chief White House Strategist, had been saying that Trump’s America First agenda would destroy the Democratic Party.
Or, more accurately, the Dems would destroy themselves trying to maintain their fragile coalition in the face of Trump’s broad-based economic successes.
Bannon wrote to the Washington Post:
“This past election, the Democrats used every personal attack, including charges of racism, against President Trump. He then won a landslide victory on a straightforward platform of economic nationalism. As long as the Democrats fail to understand this, they will continue to lose. But leftist elites do not value history, so why would they learn from history?”
He also told the American Prospect:
“The Democrats, the longer they talk about identity politics, I got ’em. I want them to talk about racism every day. If the left is focused on race and identity, and we go with economic nationalism, we can crush the Democrats.”
It took the election of a president who refused to engage in race-based rhetoric and instead focused on making people’s lives – each individual’s life – better, to finally expose Democrat leadership as the real representatives of the elites.
Democrat Jerrold Nadler, the man who is now leading the impeachment inquiry of President Trump, immediately realized the danger that a successful Trump presidency held for the Democratic Party.
How can Nadler now be expected to conduct an unbiased impeachment inquiry? Especially when it was their own shoddy treatment of blacks, among everyone else save the elites, that had minorities voting for Trump in larger numbers.
Fast forward to today where, thanks to Trump’s economic policies, we are experiencing record low unemployment across all demographics – Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and women.
Coupled with a 3.5% growth in wages and inflation at 1.7% ,resulting in real wage growth of 1.8%, Trump is delivering on his campaign promise to lift every American.
For the first time ever, most new hires are minorities and predominantly women. – President Trump Address to Historically Black Colleges and Universities 9/10/2019
Democrats are fully aware that Trump has fractured their coalition – 28-30% of Blacks now support the president as do 49% of Hispanics and growing.
Everyone who cares to be objective realizes this is what was behind the ‘Trump is a racist and you’re a white supremacist if you support him’ mantra that Dems have been left relying on to undermine his popularity.
And so yesterday, as Democrats were preparing for their debate, the president decided to have some fun:
Just so we’re not deplatformed for spreading fake news, the actual statement by Green (D-TX) was: ‘I’m concerned if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected.’
For Nadler and his fellow Dems the witch-hunt continues because, as viewers of last night’s debate saw and heard, Democrats are promising things that they can’t deliver on:
Democrats to voters: ‘Vote for bankruptcy or you’re a white supremacist.’
