Elder Patriot – Donald Trump built an empire on allocating resources where they did the most good. He would never have continued to employ a company that did nothing but disrupt one of the jobsites he was working on.
That’s one of the things that prepared him to be president in a way that separates him from his predecessors.
Presidents have ostensibly attempted broking peace between Israel and Palestinians since Bill Clinton elevated a criminal named Yasser Arafat to negotiate on behalf of Palestinians.
The fact is the Palestinian Authority is nothing more than a relatively well-run terrorist organization. Its true nom de guerre is Fatah and its militant wing is the Al Aqsa and Al Quds Martyrs Brigade. The PA is also linked to Islamic Jihad. Its leader, Mahmoud Abbas aka Abu Mazen, has ties to the original Islamic terrorist, Yasser Arafat.
For some reason Congress has authorized more than $5 billion in foreign aid to the PA over the years and we have gotten nothing in return except intransigence.
Making matters worse, the level of aid was increased to the PA$400 million annually in 2008. Keep in mind this was the time when America was in the throws of the worst recession in modern history.
Some might think that instead of borrowing $3 trillion for “Quantitative Easing” cutting unproductive aid to terrorists would be a good idea. Not so in the State Department’s fantasy world and for presidents who think serious thought lies in helping craft the menu for the coming White House dinner.
Well, President Trump has seen enough. When news came to him that John Kerry had met with a close associate of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and had asked him to convey a message to Abbas to “hold on and be strong because Trump wouldn’t be president much longer, President Trump decided to put an end to the nonsense.
Frankly, Abbas should’ve seen this coming and, told Kerry to pound sand, and called President Trump to reopen talks. Except, Abba has no intention of ever accepting peace with Israel.
Trump had made it clear that he expected a return on investment in foreign aid or that he’d find a better use for the money.
First, Trump cut funding to Pakistan announcing as his reason:
“We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting. But that will have to change, and that will change immediately.”
Then Trump dispatched Nikki Haley to tell the United Nations that if the world body continued voting against our country’s interests Trump would cut the amount of aid we give to it.
In both cases recalcitrance was met with a cut in funding. Either Abbas wasn’t paying attention or he essentially flipped Trump the bird.
So Trump is threatening the PA with losing its foreign aid. Are these foreign leaders this dense or have they been rolling U.S. presidents for so long that they just expect them to keep funding their terrorism?
Did they miss the memo that there’s a new sheriff in town who has said he has better uses for the money than funding our enemies?
What is Trump planning to do with the savings that approach $1 billion dollars? Trump has said he plans on directing it towards an aid package to be spent here at home to help create American jobs by rebuilding our infrastructure.
The terrorists who hate us and hate our allies and intend us harm will have to rely on someone else for their money. They might want to try putting Iran on speed dial. They should be flush from all of our money that Obama dropped on their lap.
