Elder Patriot – Standing before a completely sold out Amway Arena, President Trump announced the kick-off to his re-election campaign to more than 20,000 screaming supporters.
Trump, who has been to hell and back at the hands of Obama’s corrupt intelligence agencies, told his supporters, “I did it for you!” And, then told them he’s not done working for them.
Trump reminded America of the promises he made prior to his 2016 election when he swore to fight against the special interests that were exfiltrating America’s wealth for their own enrichment.
President recalled the themes of his inaugural address, driving them home throughout the evening:
“…today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the people.
“For too long, a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth.
“Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs, and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.
“That all changes starting right here and right now, because this moment is your moment. It belongs to you. It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America. This is your day, this is your celebration, and this, the United States of America, is your country.
“What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people. Jan. 20, 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.”
Forget the fake news polls, friends. Trump had more people waiting many hours in pouring rain to hear an announcement that was already known, than his pro-impeachment opponents were able to attract at 140 rallies across the country.
The reason for this is easy to see. Recall these words from Trump’s 2017 inauguration:
“Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs will be made to benefit American workers and American families. We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies and destroying our jobs. Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength.
For the first time, we have more jobs looking for workers than workers looking for jobs. Wages are up, unemployment is at record lows for virtually every demographic group, and inflation is almost non-existent.
And, all those mouthpieces for the multinational corporations and foreign governments (China?) who told us that tariffs would be tantamount to taxes on the American consumer, they lied to you:
The year-over-year prices of import products have actually dropped.
Trump’s supporters are charged up as well they should be. He promised to Make America Great Again and he’s well on his way to making that happen.
There’s much left to be done starting with cleaning up the mess Obama left behind at the State Department and the intelligence community.
Tonight, President Trump told us he would stick around to finish the job. For that we should all be thankful.
