Trump Sets Trap and Brilliant Media Walks Right Into It

ELDER PATRIOT – As if the freak show playing out in Philadelphia isn’t damaging average, hardworking, tax-paying Americans’ opinion of Hillary Clinton enough, Donald Trump hijacked the media’s narrative almost immediately after Bill Clinton had given the press the single positive thing for them to focus on this week following his speech Tuesday night extolling Hillary’s virtues.

Trump held a press conference that ran over an hour yesterday where he willingly engaged members of the media on a wide range of topics of their choosing, something Hillary Clinton has refused to do since early December of last year. He used the forum to brilliantly maneuver these J-school geniuses into discrediting Hillary’s email alibis and most of them probably still don’t realize that they took the bait.

Here’s Trump setting the trap:

Then boom!!! Here is Katy Tur of NBC News walking into it:

TUR: “Do you have any qualms about asking a foreign government, Russia, China, anybody, to interfere, to hack into a system, of anybody’s email system?”

Trump then closes the trap on her and all of the media who were preparing to run with this misleading narrative:

TUR: “Does that not give you pause?”

TRUMP: “No, it gives me no pause. If they have them, they have them. We might as well find them [so we know what they know.] Hey, you know what gives me more pause? That a person in our government, crooked Hillary Clinton…”

Trump then turns to Tur while she’s interrupting his answer: “Be quiet. I know you want to save her.”

Having shut her up, Trump finishes burying the media: “…that a person in our government Katy would delete or get rid of 30,000 emails. That gives me a big problem.”

By last night Trump had stolen the spotlight from the DNC and the mainstream media were running the totally unsubstantiated claim that the Russians were responsible for hacking Clinton’s emails something she had assured us hadn’t happened

That leaves us asking a number of questions but, because this is an election year, only one is worth seeking an answer to:
