Americans expecting another politically toxic report to be issued by U.S. attorney John Durham, who is investigating the true origins of the Spygate hoax will be disappointed.
Durham is a serious investigator, not a political hack. U.S. prosecutors don’t engage in political hatchet jobs… at least they shouldn’t.
We realize that those rules weren’t adhered to by Obama’s intelligence community but President Trump is trying to restore integrity to the investigative process.
It takes a deeply committed constitutionalist to play by the rules when those rules, and the judges who supported the violation of those rules, had been turned against you and your associates in the most egregious manner imaginable.
So what should we expect?
If Durham determines that crimes were committed – crimes which have already been well documented – then he will hand down indictments of those involved. Don’t expect all of those to eventually be indicted to be charged at the same time, either.
(NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.)—Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga., suggested Thursday at the Conservative Political Action Conference that U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Russia probe will lead to criminal charges.
Collins, who has served as the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee but is leaving the role after announcing a Senate campaign, described at CPAC what he believes will come out of Durham’s probe.
“This is not going to be a Mueller report; there won’t be a report,” Collins told Fox News, noting that Durham and his team have kept very “quiet” about their work. “When he’s ready to charge people, he’ll charge people.”
We won’t know anything until then. Unlike the Democrat hitmen appointed to Special Counsel Mueller’s team, Durham will not slander President Trump’s political opponents with an evidence-free report filled with innuendo.
Durham was the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut when U.S. Attorney General William Barr appointed him to review growing evidence of misconduct by federal law enforcement and intelligence officials in the Russia investigation.
Apparently Durham found sufficient evidence because the review turned into a criminal investigation last fall. This gave Durham the prosecutorial power to impanel a grand jury and hand down indictments.
Currently, only one person is known to be under criminal investigation by Durham but it’s likely that a number of other Obama loyalists are facing charges, as well.
That lone known person in Durham’s crosshairs is former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith. Clinesmith altered an email in Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act filings related to onetime Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
Page is a graduate of Annapolis, a navy veteran, and had served his country beyond that as a CIA asset. Clinesmith altered an email from the CIA that confirmed Page’s work on its behalf to say the opposite.
Page’s life was turned upside down and nearly destroyed by the psychotic spooks in the intelligence community who were intent on taking down Donald Trump without regard for who else was destroyed in the process.
As we have come to learn, the destruction of other Trump associates – George Papadopoulos, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, as well as Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, followed.
While we have no information from inside Durham’s investigative team, it’s hard to see how there won’t be at least a few indictments coming forth once Durham starts the process.
From there, and assuming Durham won’t let politics get in the way, there is likely to be further indictments as Durham begins “turning the screws” of the first conspirators to be charged.
Remember, these clowns wanted Roger Stone imprisoned for 9 years. Not for doing anything wrong but for lying to Congress about it. Clinesmith did something wrong – he tampered with evidence.
The threat of even the same nine years in prison might encourage him to sing.
Former FBI Director James Comey lied to Congress. Former CIA Director John Brennan lied to Congress. And, they turned our intelligence agencies into political weapons. What type of deal will Durham offer for their “cooperation.”
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper coordinated their lies and passed it on to President Obama in his Daily Presidential Briefs… or did Obama want the lies presented to him in that manner.
Keep in mind the Democratic Party is a private corporation. What they did to retain power and neuter a duly elected president was corporate espionage and an attack against all Americans.
We have a right to demand and expect accountability.
