President Trump on Spygate: ‘I Would Say That President Obama Had To Know About It’

Elder Patriot| For some reason President Trump granted Clinton operative, George Stephanopoulos, a three-day interview.  The diminutive Stephanopoulos cut his teeth as a member of Bill Clinton’s war room having served as Senior Advisor to the President.

To put Bill Clinton’s requirements for that position into perspective, Stephanopoulos was succeeded by Sidney ‘Sid Vicious’ Blumenthal who Obama forbade Hillary Clinton from hiring when she was secretary of state.

Stephanopoulos left the White House to be injected into the mainstream media in order to control the narrative and protect the Clintons.

President Trump knows all of this and still agreed to the extensive sequence of interviews.  This sets up an interesting dynamic that we’ll explore shortly.

In the meantime, in order to achieve maximum exposure prior to the airing of what is certain to be a carefully edited interview, ABC released a preview segment.

In the one that appears below, President Trump drops the bombshell most well-read observers have been waiting to hear:

“…I would say that President Obama had to know about it.”

President Trump: “It’s very simple.  There was no crime. There was no collusion. The big thing is collusion. Now, there’s no collusion. That means they set — it was a setup. In my opinion, and I think it’s going to come out.”

Stephanopoulos: “Who set it up?”

President Trump:  “We’re going to find out very soon, because I really believe it’s going to come out.  When you look at Strzok, these FBI guys that were low-lifes. When you look at – because the FBI’s the greatest- but these top people were absolute low-lifes. When you look at Strzok and Page, and they’re talking about an insurance policy, ‘just in case she loses’, that was the insurance policy.”

Stephanopoulos:You know I’ve heard you talk about”…

President Trump: “George, I went through the insurance policy.”

Stephanopoulos: “I understand that, but if they were determined to prevent you from becoming president, why wouldn’t they leak it before hand?”

President Trump: “You’d have to ask them.”…

Stephanopoulos: “Have it come out before the election”..

President Trump: “Oh, they tried.  They tried – and you know what, had that gone out before the election, I don’t think I could have – I don’t think I would have hand enough time – to defend myself.”

Stephanopoulos: “You clearly believe there was a group of people working against you. Do you think President Obama was behind it?”

President Trump: “I would say that he certainly must have known about it because it went very high up in the chain. But you’re going to find that out. I’m not going to make that statement quite yet. But I would say that President Obama had to know about it.”

President Trump only needs to point to Hillary Clinton’s comments at the third presidential debate to confirm that Obama had to have known:

What is really important about WikiLeaks is that the Russian government has engaged in espionage against Americans. They have hacked American websites, American accounts of private people, of institutions. Then they have given that information to WikiLeaks for the purpose of putting it on the internet. This has come from the highest levels of the Russian government. Clearly from Putin himself in an effort, as 17 of our intelligence agencies have confirmed, to influence our election. So I actually think the most important question of this evening, Chris, is finally, will Donald Trump admit and condemn that the Russians are doing this, and make it clear that he will not have the help of Putin in this election.”

Madame Clinton’s words were carefully crafted to incriminate Donald Trump by making it appear to be the conclusion of our intelligence community that Russian was efforting to help Trump.

Obama had to be aware of the same intelligence that Madame Clinton cited.  And, now that the Mueller Report found no evidence of that collusion, it defies credulity to believe that Obama was not kept in the loop about that investigation.

These texts between then-FBI agent Peter Strzok and then-FBI attorney Lisa Page would seem to confirm that conclusion.

Stephanopoulos Vs. Trump

It’s easy to question the wisdom of giving ABC’s min-turd an opportunity to advance his agenda.  But, President Trump is no wallflower when it comes to trolling the media, either.

Expect the interview to be edited to leave viewers with the impression that Trump is a paranoid and delusional, a new-age Captain Queeg.

As the impeachment process gains momentum, expect the edited interview to serve as the foundation for renewed calls to invoke the Twenty-Fifth Amendment.

By giving mini-turd access to three days of interviews, President Trump has likely been told that Attorney General William Barr, via special prosecutor John Durham, already has evidence that Obama knew.

Trump has become expert at trolling the media in this fashion.  Once he has evidence against his target, he sets a trap for them with a seemingly outlandish comment.  They bite, President Trump springs the trap.
