ELDER PATRIOT – The entire Democratic Syndicate so feared Donald Trump’s promise to “Drain the Swamp” that they rushed into making Russia-Trump collusion allegations before thinking through their tactics.
So intent were they on discrediting newly elected President Trump that they targeted the Republican chairman, Devin Nunes, demanding he recuse himself so they would have a clear field from which to savage the president.
Then they relied on their top two appointees to the House Ethics Committee act unethically. Really.
Now, three months later, with Nunes sitting on the sidelines waiting to be cleared by the Ethics Committee so that he can non-recuse himself, we have learned that the Dems’ plan from the beginning was to strip the committee of Republican leadership so that they could ride roughshod over the investigation into President Trump.
Sounds very similar to how they demanded Attorney General Jeff Sessions step aside so that the Department of Justice would be under the leadership of Rod Rosenstein who is another lifelong Dem. So it came as no surprise when he appointed Robert Mueller as Special Prosecutor in this case. Mueller has proven bona fides when it comes to protecting the swamp. During his 12-year tenure as F.B.I. director he conveniently missed all of the Clinton corruption that was taking place around him.
And, with Trump’s appointee for F.B.I. director still awaiting Senate confirmation that important investigative agency also remains under Democrat control.
The Washington Free Beacon’s Adam Kredo, citing multiple sources, reported that Democratic leadership of the House Ethics Committee were charged with intentionally dragging their feet in the investigation into Intelligence Committee Chair Devin Nunes in what was an obvious attempt to neutralize whatever balance Nunes might’ve afforded in the defense of Trump as the Intelligence Committee’s sensitive Russia probe turned up evidence.
In return the leaders, Representatives Ted Deutch (D-FL) and Yvette Clark (D-NY) were promised advancement of their political careers by Democratic Party elders.
Representatives Deutch and Clark used their leadership positions on the House Ethics Committee to slow-play the Nunes investigation to keep him sidelined for as long as possible. In reality, they are the ones who should’ve recused themselves from the outset because of their pre-declared prejudice towards Nunes.
In a March interview that Deutch gave to National Public Radio (NPR) Deutch let his bias show when he said this:
“It’s hard to see how the Intelligence Committee can move forward and do the job that it needs to do on behalf of the American people when the chairman behaves in a way that seems to put partisanship above getting all of the facts here. When the chairman of the committee decided to share some information, first with the speaker, then rushing to the White House to share it with the president—information that appears to be classified information—it makes it hard for people to have confidence in his ability” to move forward. That’s why there needs to be an independent investigation.”
But, as it turns out Nunes had done nothing illegal or inappropriate.
The on March 31, also before Nunes recused himself, Clark posted this to her Facebook page:
“Chairman Nunes is compromised and should recuse himself. His bizarre actions over the past two weeks have proven that he is incapable of conducting an honest, credible and impartial investigation into President Trump’s ties to Russia. We need an independent, bipartisan commission that is insulated from political interference to investigate possible ties between the Trump campaign & transition team and the Kremlin.”
Again, it turns out that Trump never colluded with Russia. More importantly the Democrats never had any intentions of ever allowing a bi-partisan investigation as their seizure of the Justice Department, the F.B.I., and the House Intelligence should prove.
Clark unleashed a torrent of tweets that would have her eating crow if she had any honor:
Coupled with the over-the-top rhetoric of Dems Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi (when she’s lucid), Luis Guiterez, Jackie Speier, Patrick Murphy, and Eric Swalwell among others the Dems’ strategy is clear.
As Carl Sandburg once said, “If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell”
