ELDER PATRIOT – Elie Wiesel was a survivor of the German death camp at Auschwitz. He spent the rest of his life chronicling the atrocities that occurred there and throughout Nazi occupied territories while trying to make sense of his experiences so that future generations would not allow the same thing to happen to the Jewish people again.
His life’s work led him to become a voice for oppressed peoples the world over. As a result he was awarded the 1986 Nobel Prize for Peace. During his acceptance speech those thirty years ago he said:
“It would be unnatural for me not to make Jewish priorities my own: Israel, Soviet Jewry, Jews in Arab lands … But there are others as important to me. Apartheid is, in my view, as abhorrent as anti-Semitism.”
Wiesel had long ago buried any sense of rancor and hatred he may have harbored and he became a spokesman and defender for all of the world’s oppressed minorities. The night that he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize he acknowledged the plight of the Palestinian people:
“And then, too, there are the Palestinians to whose plight I am sensitive but whose methods I deplore. Violence and terrorism are not the answer. Something must be done about their suffering, and soon. I trust Israel, for I have faith in the Jewish people. Let Israel be given a chance, let hatred and danger be removed from her horizons, and there will be peace in and around the Holy Land.”
As if on cue, before this gentle but great man was even laid to rest Hillary Clinton’s Palestinian advisors were tweeting horribly discrediting lies about him.
Was this really necessary? For Max Blumenthal it apparently was.
Max Blumenthal is the son of Sidney Blumenthal who is current being paid $200,000 annually as one of Hillary Clinton’s most trusted advisors. The elder Blumenthal regularly passes on to Hillary his son’s hate-filled screeches that are directed at the Israeli people.
As Observer.com noted after reviewing “Hillary’s trail of anti-Israel” emails, “Clinton praised professional Israel hater Max Blumenthal as ‘powerful and touching.’
“What is truly unsettling is Ms. Clinton’s glowing praise for Max’s work. On numerous occasions she forwarded the articles to her staff with the words ‘Pls print,’ and a number of times she asked for multiple copies so that she could hand them out to her staff and discuss them.”
The entire article can be read here.
Shockingly, the Observer discovered that, “If you do an exhaustive search of Hillary’s emails, you will not find a single pro-Israel article or piece of advice from Sid Blumenthal.”
As Rabbi Schmuley Boteach points out: “Sidney Blumenthal has been an intimate family friend to Hillary Clinton for two decades, and the emails between them show late night calls, social visits to one another’s home, and all the informality expected of two close and trusted friends.”
Even after President Obama refused to approve Sidney Blumenthal’s hiring at the State Department Mrs. Clinton secretly employed him as a private advisor for $120,000 annually.
Where is the outrage from the same mainstream media that had seen fit to excoriate Donald Trump mercilessly and for over a week because another hate-filled man, David Duke, had endorsed him even though Trump had never met him and had disavowed Duke a number of time previously?
These are the people that Elie Wiesel warned us about. These are the people that Hillary Clinton has surrounded herself with. They say what she is thinking and the media never hold her to account.
The mainstream media has shown itself to be dishonest by reporting about Duke and Blumenthal in diametrically different ways.
Without Elie Wiesel who is left to hold the media accountable? Who remains to continue his work and to defend his legacy of love for all mankind?
