Elder Patriot – NBC News has reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has enough evidence to bring charges against President Trump’s former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.
However, when the innuendo and narrative is stripped away, the facts in evidence listed in the eleven hundred word article makes a stronger case for prosecuting Bill and Hillary Clinton than it does against Flynn:
“The investigators are speaking to multiple witnesses in coming days to gain more information surrounding Flynn’s lobbying work, including whether he laundered money or lied to federal agents about his overseas contacts.”
Pardon me while I stop laughing. Is the question whether Flynn’s foundation received $145 million for lobbying the CFIUS to approve selling the key element in making nuclear weapons to Russia? That is after all ostensibly the reason that Robert Mueller was appointed in the first place, wasn’t it?
“Mueller’s team is also examining whether Flynn attempted to orchestrate the removal of a chief rival of Turkish President Recep Erdogan from the U.S. to Turkey in exchange for millions of dollars.”
That rival would be Fethullah Gulen and the reason Flynn was fired by Barack Obama in 2014.
Bill Clinton provided sanctuary to Gulen, a radical cleric, in 1999. In 2000, Gulen was tried in absentia by a Turkish security court for endeavoring to replace Turkey’s secular government with an Islamic one; the indictment alleged that his movement had attempted to infiltrate Turkey’s military schools.
By 2014 Gulen had built what some estimate to be a $200 billion charter school movement to Islamize the United States.
There’s little doubt about Gulen’s intentions. Here’s just a small sample of his words:
“You must move in the arteries of the system without anyone noticing your existence until you reach all the power centers. . . . Until the conditions are ripe, they [the followers] must continue like this. If they do something prematurely, the world will crush our heads, and Muslims will suffer everywhere, like in the tragedies in Algeria, like in 1982 [in] Syria, . . . like in the yearly disasters and tragedies in Egypt. [. . .] The time is not yet right. You must wait for the time when you are complete and conditions are ripe, until we can shoulder the entire world and carry it. [. . .] You must wait until such time as you have gotten all the state power, until you have brought to your side all the power of the constitutional institutions in Turkey. [ . . .] Now, I have expressed my feelings and thoughts to you all—in confidence . . . trusting your loyalty and secrecy. I know that when you leave here, [just] as you discard your empty juice boxes, you must discard the thoughts and the feelings that I expressed here.”
Flynn, who had spent a significant part of his military career shaping U.S. counterterrorism strategy and dismantling insurgent networks, wanted the Obama administration to take a proactive stance against Gulen’s growing radical Islamic network.
America’s first Muslim president refused and unceremoniously fired Flynn.
The fact is that Turkey is a NATO ally and any attempted coup against the Turkish president demands our cooperation with their government.
The article states that Trump attempted to do exactly that although the writers go out of their way to paint Gulen as a just an elderly scapegoat:
“A former senior law enforcement official said that in the weeks after Trump’s inauguration the FBI was asked to conduct a new review of Turkey’s 2016 request to extradite Fethullah Gulen, an elderly Muslim cleric living in the U.S. whom President Erdogan blames for orchestrating a coup to overthrow him.”
The FBI refused Trump’s request claiming the case had been decided by the Obama administration. And ahem, we all know that the FBI was never politicized under Obama.
Then there’s this claim that incredibly reeks of hypocrisy:
“The elder Flynn was paid $530,000 last year for work the Justice Department says benefited the government of Turkey.” Can you imagine that, a reasonable payment for services rendered to a NATO ally?
There’s no attempt to compare that “staggering” sum to the $145 million paid to Hillary Clinton that benefitted the government of Vladimir Putin. That comes as no surprise. Both Mueller and NBC have avoided mentioning that for 7 years.
How about this evidence of corruption that NBC uncovered:
“Flynn also was paid some $35,000 in 2015 by Russian state television for a speech in Moscow at a gala where he sat next to Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
Seriously? That amount is well within the normal parameters of what speakers get for traveling halfway around the world. Rutgers paid Michael Moore $25,000 for his sage view of American politics. Moore did agree to wear a Rutgers cap when making future public appearances as well.
What wasn’t within normal parameters – even for ex-President Bill Clinton – was the $500,000 he was paid for an hour of rambling as the Uranium One deal was being consummated or his invitation to Putin’s inner sanctum afterwards.
This is what passes for journalism in Obama and Hillary’s America. You have to wonder who’s paying them to write this crap.
If this is the best the Deep State can do, I’m beginning to think that Trump may actually be successful in draining the swamp.
