Meme Depicting Pandemic Stats Goes Viral

A new meme hit my desktop last night.  It purports to be a statistical compilation of deaths by state due to coronavirus.  The stats are an indictment of places where Democrats rule.

While we can argue that a couple of states may be misrepresented due to the party affiliation of their governor or the composition of their state houses at the moment, one thing becomes clear…

Forget the party affiliation and check the overall ideological temperature of the state government… is it primarily liberal or does it generally adhere to conservative principles.

Has the governing officials been willing to make difficult choices irrespective of political correctness in fighting the coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China?

Have these same officials banned treatments (i.e. Hydroxychloroquine, UV light) based on their own political disdain for the president who touted them?

Have these officials, in their desire to do political harm to the Trump economy, extended lockdowns to the point where healthy people became sickened through extended close contact with family members?

Statistics showed that 66% of all coronavirus cases were from people who sheltered-in-place.

Remember, the original goal was only to flatten the curve so our hospitals wouldn’t be overrun.  It was only after that happened that certain liberal governors changed the goal to wanting a vaccine before reopening.

(JustTheNews) Dr. Anthony Fauci on Friday admitted frankly that the rolling state lockdowns which he has advocated for multiple weeks could cause “irreparable damage” to the United States, a sharp distinction from his earlier claim that the shutdowns were merely “inconvenient.”

The White House adviser made the statement during an interview on CNBC on Friday morning. “We can’t stay locked down for such a considerable period of time that you might do irreparable damage and have unintended consequences, including consequences for health,” he said.

“I don’t want people to think that any of us feel that staying locked down for a prolonged period of time is the way to go,” he added.

Yet some governors… the vast majority being Democrats… have refused to open their states back up…extending the most draconian lockdown decrees imaginable, only to see  their policies exacerbating the problems…

(ABC 7) Doctors at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek say they have seen more deaths by suicide during this quarantine period than deaths from the COVID-19 virus.

The head of the trauma in the department believes mental health is suffering so much, it is time to end the shelter-in-place order.

(Breitbart) It’s fear, not the virus, that is leading to dangerous and deadly health outcomes, from children falling behind on routine vaccines to people with serious conditions like heart disease and depression staying at home instead of seeking help.

Progressives like to lecture us about science but they’ve been wrong on science more often than they’ve been right.  Even though they often tell us that the “science” they cite has been “decided.”
