ELDER PATRIOT – To the American left Khizr Khan is a heroic Muslim American because of he gave an emotional rebuke of Donald Trump’s call for a temporary ban on immigration from Muslim countries until we can figure out how to tell the good guys from the terrorists. But, beyond the emotion is there merit to his criticism of Trump?
Gold Star families deserve our deepest appreciation for their sacrifice but they do not deserve a free pass once they have chosen to enter the political arena. Mr. Khan would have us believe that because he and his family have assimilated into American society that means all Muslim immigrants automatically will do the same.
That simply isn’t true as we’ve learned from San Bernardino, Orlando and the no-go zones that have been growing in number throughout Europe.
Mr. Khan’s son knew better. He had his life taken while serving as a captain in the U.S. Army in Iraq. Who took his life? Ostensibly they’re the same miscreant Islamist radicals that Donald Trump wants to prevent from coming here until we can verify their intentions.
You know, the Jihadists that Trump has been demanding we determine whether they have the same “black soul” as Khizr Khan has accused Trump of having, before granting them asylum. Yeah, those Muslim Jihadists.
The younger Khan realized that there were murderous Muslims and that it would be better to kill them before they got here than to let them lose on our streets uncertain of their to kill innocent Americans. That’s why he was in Iraq.
Americans have already decided in favor of Trump’s position on this issue as a poll conducted by Gravis Marketing, a non-partisan research firm, has shown. According to Breitbart who commissioned the poll “A majority of voters (55%) disagree with Hillary Clinton’s call to release illegal immigrants arriving at the border into the United States and give them a chance to apply for asylum. A majority of women (51.6 percent) opposed Clinton’s proposal to release illegal immigrants into the interior and allow them to apply for asylum.”
The elder Khan is espousing the same irresponsible immigration policies that the nations of Europe embraced a decade ago and he’s using the same emotional pleas the Europeans fell victim to.
Those policies are now threatening the future existence of the continent. Donald Trump believes we should learn from the lessons that history teaches us no matter how politically incorrect or how inconvenient those truths may be.
