Kerry Violates Logan Act … Again: Negotiating on Behalf of Iran

Elder Patriot – It’s time to order an investigation of John Kerry over his ongoing efforts to undermine the current legitimately elected government.  Kerry may not be happy with the election of President Trump but that doesn’t give him the right to travel around the world meeting with foreign leaders and conducting negotiations in direct opposition to this president.  He’s already done more than enough to have been led away in shackles.

There is a law that defines the crimes that the former Secretary of State Kerry is guilty of.  That’s 18 U.S. Code § 953 commonly known as the Logan Act:

Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury, which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.

Kerry, whose term as Secretary of State left the Middle East in turmoil with multiple wars, Israel dangling in the wind, the export of terrorism from that region of the world on the rise, an exodus of displaced Muslims seeking asylum around the world, and Iran flush with U.S. dollars and on a path to developing nuclear weapons, remains committed to continuing his failed policies.  Even if that means undermining the current president and his administration that the people elected to reverse his miserable mistakes.

The Boston Globe is reporting tonight that Kerry has met with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif for the second time in two months in an effort to find ways to save the Iran nuclear weapons program.

President Trump has called the deal the worst product of negotiations he has ever seen and has stated his intention to end the deal by the May 12th deadline.  Over the last two months Kerry has been aggressively pursuing an unauthorized campaign to salvage the deal by meeting with foreign leaders who he hopes will apply enough pressure to the president to make him change his mind.

Add this to Kerry’s late January head to head with a close associate of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Hussein Agha, and we get a picture of a man who is defying the Logan Act confident that because no one has ever been charged with that before he won’t be either.

During that January meeting he gave Agha a message to convey to Abbas: “hold on and be strong.  Tell him that he should stay strong in his spirit and play for time” and that he should not break and not yield to President Trump’s demands. According to Kerry, Trump would not remain in office much longer. Kerry told Agha “within a year there was a good chance that Trump would not be in the White House.”

Whatever Kerry’s game is he’s pushing a little too hard against a president who has shown his desire to enforce the laws.  Unlike the Dem’s who are relying on a charge that has no underlying law to point to – collusion – Kerry has violated a real law – the Logan Act – on multiple occasions.

Trump’s popularity topped 51% today.  He’s going to be in the White House for another 81 months long after Kerry’s disgraceful biography has been written.

Not only has Kerry been giving his terrorist allies bad advice but his recent actions have also pretty much guaranteed that his time in the barrel will be coming soon.
