VIA| It ain’t easy being the child of an American president, particularly one who is as controversial and seemingly polarizing as Donald Trump.
Ivanka Trump, like all children of sitting presidents, is protected by a Secret Service detail, a straightforward and accepted fact, yet that hasn’t stopped the ridiculous left from being critical about it.
It seems Ivanka has found a way to show the Secret Service some appreciation for their time and hard work, while also managing to win over critics in her own neighborhood.
…[C]ritics have voiced a number of concerns about the Trump daughter’s protection detail, which regularly includes her children, 5-year-old Arabella, 3-year-old Joseph, and 1-year-old Theodore.
Even former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton — who’s made it clear that she’s no fan of the new administration — has come to the defense of the Trump children on this point:
It makes me very sad to read this & to know that anyone would ever say this. The President’s family’s protection should not be politicized. https://t.co/49xmDD0hy2

While the work the Secret Service does certainly can’t be considered easy, it seems that Ivanka Trump and her family want to make it at least a little bit sweeter.
As the Daily Mail reports:
The Kushner family showed their appreciation to the Secret Service Friday morning, by bringing them some treats.
Jared Kushner and his two oldest children, five-year-old Arabella and three-year-old Joseph, brought out a tray of goodies to the agents on duty outside of the family’s Kalorama home on Friday.
Little Joseph smiled ear-to-ear as he carried the tin tray out of the house to one of his protectors.
Photographers were on hand to capture the adorable moment:

Back in March, after the family first moved in to the Kalorama neighborhood in Washington, D.C., their neighbors were reportedly none too pleased with the security presence that they brought with them.
As one resident of the upscale neighborhood said shortly after they moved in:
“There are all these obnoxious black SUVs, and they make us cross the street.
I pay my tax dollars to walk on that side of the street.
We were there way before them.”
The following month, Ivanka and family went door-to-door in order to give out baked goods to her neighbors who suddenly changed their tune, calling her a “lovely” and “very gracious woman.”
This goes to show that a little kindness and thoughtfulness can go a heck of a long way toward helping to smooth things over and bridge the gap between folks who might have differing political views.
And, it’s a striking contrast from the reports about how Hillary Clinton was toward her Secret Service detail. Ed Klein, Ronald Kessler, and Dan Bongino have all noted the acrimonious relationship she had with her Secret Service team.
Looks like Ivanka has served up a refreshingly sweet reboot…
