Elder Patriot – Ford Motor Company has never shied away from playing both sides of the fence when there was a profit to be made. Ford aided the Nazi war machine leading up to, and then after World War II started.
Now they are trying to have it both ways again but a Louisiana sheriff is having none of it.
According to a report in the Shreveport Times:
“Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington said his office will no longer purchase Ford products after the automaker expressed support for National Football League players’ right to kneel in protest during the national anthem.
“In a letter to Hixson Ford of Alexandria on Wednesday, Whittington said “recent events surrounding the NFL, its players and their audacity to thumb their collective noses at the American flag, the American military, as well as their obvious disdain for the profession of law enforcement in general, forces me to take a stand.”
Ford had previously tried hiding behind the First Amendment contending in a September press release that:
“We respect individuals’ rights to express their views, even if they are not ones we share. That’s part of what makes America great.”
Nice try Ford but Sheriff Whittington one-upped them when he wrote a letter to Hixson Ford, the dealership his department spent nearly three-quarters of a million dollars ($747,132.) with over the past two years:
“Yes, the NFL players have a right to protest as they deem necessary, but we, the Bossier Sheriff’s Office and taxpayers of Bossier Parish, have a right to spend our money elsewhere.
“I realize that Ford Motor Co. has made this decision and may not necessarily be supported by your company, but you are our dealer.”
Seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars is a lot of sales even to Ford’s largest dealerships but Sheriff Whittington wasn’t stopping there. He also told Hixson Ford that he would send copies of his letter to Louisiana’s 63 other sheriffs in an effort to recruit similar minded patriots to follow suit.
If those other sheriffs join the boycott Ford could be facing losses of $45 million or more over the next two years just due to lost sales among Louisiana sheriffs. What the domino affect this might trigger with Ford’s large base of American patriots no one can predict.
It’s almost unfathomable that Ford would spit in the face of their NASCAR fans and other patriots – like those they target as customers with the F-150, because of protests by ignorant, self-entitled, BLM sympathizers.
Now they will be forced to live with their decision.
