Elder Patriot- |Oh, my! Who ever expected this? Said no one ever…
Project Veritas has done it again. Video journalists working for Project Veritas have released undercover videos of Google executive Jen Gennai telling how Google is manipulating the algorithms that determine search results in order to prevent the re-election of Donald Trump.
Project Veritas cameras recorded Gennai in her own words:
We all got screwed over in 2016, again it wasn’t just us, it was, the people got screwed over, the news media got screwed over, like, everybody got screwed over so we’re rapidly been like, happened there and how do we prevent it from happening again.
We’re also training our algorithms, like, if 2016 happened again, would we have, would the outcome be different?
Gennai knows that the power Google has to alter elections because it’s likely they already have done so.
In August 2015, Left leaning Politico reported on Robert Epstein, a researcher who has studied the power of Google to move voters:
“Google, Inc. has amassed far more power to control elections—indeed, to control a wide variety of opinions and beliefs—than any company in history has ever had. Google’s search algorithm can easily shift the voting preferences of undecided voters by 20 percent or more—up to 80 percent in some demographic groups—with virtually no one knowing they are being manipulated.”
“Our new research leaves little doubt about whether Google has the ability to control voters. In laboratory and online experiments conducted in the United States, we were able to boost the proportion of people who favored any candidate by between 37 and 63 percent after just one search session. The impact of viewing biased rankings repeatedly over a period of weeks or months would undoubtedly be larger.”
Gennai also expressed the importance of maintaining Google’s market dominance:
Elizabeth Warren is saying we should break up Google. And like, I love her but she’s very misguided, like that will not make it better it will make it worse, because all these smaller companies who don’t have the same resources that we do will be charged with preventing the next Trump situation, it’s like a small company cannot do that.
Gennai also threw down, although unknowingly, the gauntlet to congress:
We got called in front of Congress multiple times, so we’ve not shown up because we know that they’re just going to attack us. We’re not going to change our, we’re not going to change our mind. There’s no use sitting there being attacked over something we know we’re not going to change. They can pressure us but we’re not changing. But we also have to be aware of what they’re doing and what they’re accusing us of.
Libertarians who resist government intervention in the case of these social justice monoliths will die on their own swords.
We have antitrust laws for a reason and no reason could be more important than ensuring free and open dialogue to guarantee an informed electorate.
On January 8, 1982, AT&T Corp. settled the U.S. Department of Justice antitrust suit against them and, in 1984, split into 7 independent operating companies. Prices plummeted and free speech prospered.
It’s time for President Trump’s Justice Department, confronted with a do-nothing Congress, to do the same.
