ELDER PATRIOT – Helen Heyer became an innocent victim of the Antifa’s disregard of the law in Charlottesville.
Whether you believe the violence in Charlottesville was the result of agitation propaganda or the result of an organic uprising against white supremacists there are certain immutable facts that undermine the MSM giving a pass to Antifa for their actions:
- The “United the Right” movement had been issued a permit to hold its rally.
- The permit was reviewed by a judge and found sufficient, buttressed by the Supreme Court’s decision in NATIONAL SOCIALIST PARTY v. SKOKIE.
- When Nazis rallied in the Jewish Community of Skokie, Illinois, the mayor released a statement that ended with this message of unity:
- There were counter-protestors but no serious confrontations. And, no one was injured.
- Antifa came to the confrontation wearing helmets, carrying weapons and shields, and armed with mace, urine balloons and bags of fecal matter.
Antifa’s use of violence in shutting down speech it doesn’t approve of has been well documented, as has been the violence of other associate Left-wing groups – La Raza, Puente Human Rights Movement, Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF,) the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), and Black Lives Matter – everywhere from Ferguson, to Baltimore, Donald Trump’s campaign rallies, to Washington D.C. after the president’s inauguration, to Berkeley, to Charlottesville.
The media’s refusal to condemn the rhetoric attempting to justify the violence of these groups has emboldened their members to commit more violence – including murder.
Way before Charlottesville there was Antifa affiliate Black Lives Matter. This is what they chanted at their “rally” in New York City more than a year ago:
“What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want them? Now. Pigs in a blanket, fry them like bacon.”
Here is CNN’s tepid discussion of the appropriateness of BLM’s rhetoric that resulted in more than a dozen assassinations:
CNN allows the despicable BLM protestor to disassociate one of the cop killers from his despicable rhetoric without challenging him.
We’re yet to hear any video or tape calling for violence by “Unite the Right” prior to Antifa attacking them. Even if one were to surface there was no justification for the attack any more than there would’ve been had the police in NYC similarly used their clubs to attack BLM the night the above video was recorded.
Hate speech that ends in the murder of innocent people cannot be dismissed because you attach moral relativism to some other rhetoric of the haters of your choice.
The actions of James Fields, a psychotic young man directly responsible for the death of Helen Heyer, is inexcusable but no less explained by hateful rhetoric just as was the assassination of those dead police.
The more we learn about both groups in the aftermath of Charlottesville, the more we realize just how right President Trump was when he refused to give Antifa a free pass simply because the MSM had deemed that group of haters less offensive. They are not the arbiters of morality.
