ELDER PATRIOT – Yesterday we cited Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s illegal application of the legislation that allows for the appointment of a Special Counsel.
28 CFR 600.1 – Grounds for appointing a Special Counsel.
§ 600.1 Grounds for appointing a Special Counsel.
The Attorney General, or in cases in which the Attorney General is recused, the Acting Attorney General, will appoint a Special Counsel when he or she determines that criminal investigation of a person or matter is warranted and –
(a) That investigation or prosecution of that person or matter by a United States Attorney’s Office or litigating Division of the Department of Justice would present a conflict of interest for the Department or other extraordinary circumstances; and
(b) That under the circumstances, it would be in the public interest to appoint an outside Special Counsel to assume responsibility for the matter.
…”the Acting Attorney General, will appoint a Special Counsel when he or she determines that criminal investigation of a person or matter is warranted…”
After more than a year of investigation by the F.B.I. – both legal and in violation of FISA court rules that govern the surveillance of U.S. citizens – we’re still waiting for even the slightest hint of evidence that Donald Trump or anyone associated with his campaign was guilty of colluding with “Russia” in any way or for any reason.
Yet it was under this pretext that Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller to conduct an unwarranted investigation that has morphed into a witch-hunt because of Rosenstein’s deliberately vague and overly broad authorizing order that empowered Mueller in the first place.
Mueller’s bias in prosecuting a case against Trump can no longer be questioned. More than 99% of his law firm’s contributions in the last presidential election went to Hillary Clinton and that everyone he has surrounded himself are similarly devout Clinton supporters, some even having defended her refusal to cooperate in granting the F.B.I. access to her illegal server and Clinton Foundation documents in court.
That he and the group of investigators he’s surrounded himself with are intent on protecting Hillary and the swamp can no longer be dismissed as they have decided to expand their investigation beyond “Russia” and into every financial transaction President Trump has ever entered into and every person he has ever had contact with and not into Hillary Clinton and the money she made dealing with Russia as Secretary of State.
It’s time to ask why Rosenstein unleashed Mueller when he had no evidence of any criminal activity or intent on the part of Donald Trump or anyone on his campaign team and, then gave him such broad powers. Mueller’s 12 years as F.B.I. director certified only one thing – his allegiance to protecting the swamp. He was the F.B.I. director while the Clinton Foundation was accepting $135 million in donations from Russian companies at the very time she was approving the sale of massive amounts of weapons grade uranium to Russia.
Don’t believe me, here’s the NY Times article detailing how: Cash Flowed to Clinton Foundation Amid Russian Uranium Deal.
Mueller also saw nothing unusual about Bill Clinton being paid double his normal speaking fee by a Russian controlled financial institution at the same time Hillary was opposing the Magnitsky Act that sought to curb human rights abuses and that Russian opposed.
Rosenstein is a lifelong Democrat who is likely neck deep in the swamp him self. At the very least his purported “integrity and independence” deserves to be questioned.
Trusting the same people who continually vouched for the integrity of Comey and Mueller to defend Rosenstein should not be acceptable. He is up to his eyeballs in trying to destroy the presidency of Donald Trump and we have a right to know by what right does he get to play God?
Remember, he has the power to call off Mueller’s witch-hunt, or to fire Mueller at any time he deems appropriate and for many of us we have already passed that point.
The question in a society that is under such extreme surveillance as ours now is will always be Who watches the watchers?
Trump understands this and that is why he recently and publicly admonished Jeff Sessions for recusing himself and surrendering his Congressionally-approved authority in this matter to Rosenstein.
If Mueller has uncovered nothing to implicate our president in a plot with Russia to alter the election then Sessions should know this, un-recuse himself and regain control over Mueller. There is no logical or legal reason for Sessions to remain sidelined.
Sessions, if he chooses not to fire Mueller for political reasons, would then have the authority to authorize a separate investigation – one conducted say by Rudy Giuliani – into the integrity of Rosenstein, Mueller, and Mueller’s band assassins.
Rod Rosenstein, et al, have been granted the power of God over Donald Trump. We deserve to know everything about these unelected and mostly faceless protectors of the swamp before they’re allowed to bring down our duly elected president.
