Comey Flaunts Decepticons’ Two-Tiered Justice: Refuses to Answer Congress’ Questions – Will Not Be Held to Account

Elder Patriot – Try as they might to resurrect the left-right paradigm for future political advantage, the striking refusal by former FBI Director James Comey, and his congressional questioners who allowed him to stonewall them, makes it abundantly clear that the intent of the committee and Comey are one and the same – hide the corrupt CIA-FBI-DOJ effort to “rein in” Donald Trump.

Comey was on Capitol Hill to answer questions regarding the role he played in the Clinton email investigation and in the defrauding of the FISA court as part of the joint investigation with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Yesterday he engaged in doublespeak when he wasn’t under oath but was providing fodder for media decepticons:

Reporter: Did you have total confidence in the dossier when you used it to secure a surveillance warrant and for subsequent renewals?

Comey: I have total confidence that the FISA process was followed and that the entire case was handled in a thoughtful, responsible way by DOJ and the FBI.  I think that the notion that FISA was abused here is nonsense.

In truth, it was anything but nonsense.  Comey had already testified that dossier was salacious and unverified during a January 2017 session with congress.  Regardless, the mercenary propagandists had their lede.

Owing to the late hour of this session – there are only weeks remaining before control of the House changes hands – decepticon Republicans displayed the appropriate outrage when the DOJ attorneys accompanying Comey consistently blocked him from answering question.

But, they did nothing beyond that.

Is Congress really so impotent that they could not compel Comey’s answers?  Especially since they already were prepared for his obfuscation?

Congressman Meadows admitted House Republicans complicity in helping Comey run out the clock:

Darryl Issa is a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.  He was a participant in yesterday’s predictably fruitless joint inquiry of Comey.

While the short-term optics may make the Republicans appear to the aggrieved party – dogged pursuers of the truth being blocked by DOJ operatives protecting Comey and the nefarious Deep State he fronts for – the longer ranger vision casts yesterday’s show trial in a different light.

Comey was fired on May 9, 2017, a full 19 months ago.  Republicans, had they wanted, could’ve gotten answers to these questions any time since then, especially after it became clear in June 2017, that the FISC had been lied to and it became apparent that a plot was under way to overturn the results of the legitimate election of Donald Trump.

What could possibly be more important?

Remember, it was Comey who was involved in obtaining the original FISA warrant in October 2016 and who later testified to the corrupt Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, in 2017:

“The IC leadership thought it important, for a variety of reasons, to alert the incoming President to the existence of this material, even though it was salacious and unverified.  Among those reasons were: (1) we knew the media was about to publicly report the material and we believed the IC should not keep knowledge of the material and its imminent release from the President-Elect; and (2) to the extent there was some effort to compromise an incoming President, we could blunt any such effort with a defensive briefing.”

The swamp: Decepticon Republicans and Decepticon Democrats working together to protect their corrupt constructs.
