Elder Patriot – It’s time to consider that when it comes to today’s indictment on charges of pedophilia, the politically connected billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, may be a sacrificial lamb.
Judging by a number of factors, it appears that the fix might be in.
Starting with the venue – the DOJ-SDNY. Corrupt special counsel Robert Mueller, appointed after the firing of corrupt FBI Director Jamey Comey, had been handing off cases to the rabidly anti-Trump SDNY.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alex Rossmiller, Alison Moe, and Maurene Comey are in charge of the prosecution. Yes, Maurene Comey is Jim Comey’s daughter.
What’s more likely, Maurene will throw daddy overboard once it become obvious to her that he turned a blind eye towards the Clintons’ relationship with Epstein, or she’ll do everything in her power to protect him?
Frankly, there’s no way to justify her presence on the prosecution team. The appearance of bias has been baked into her appointment.
Further concern comes from the naming of David Boies to represent two of Epstein’s accusers.
Boies is a master lawyer but his representation of the Clintons’ friend and major fundraiser, sexual predator Harvey Weinstein gives pause for concern. That’s especially true because he has a history of targeting witnesses and coercing their cooperation.
Boies’ willingness to put his thumb on the scales of justice were chronicled by Larry Elkin:
In 2017, to the delight of some who were disgruntled by Donald Trump’s Electoral College victory, Boies joined a team of lawyers suing to declare winner-take-all electoral vote allocations unconstitutional…
…Boies negotiated Weinstein’s 2015 employment contract. During those talks, the Weinstein Company board was denied direct access to the executive’s personnel file, although Boies later said the board was informed of “three or four” confidential settlements involving Weinstein.
Two years later, after The New York Times and the New Yorker published detailed accounts of Weinstein’s longstanding history of sexual aggression against women, especially those seeking roles in his films, it emerged that Boies had helped hire private investigators to target the women disclosing those offenses, as well as the journalists reporting the story. The Times was already a client of Boies’ firm and promptly and publicly fired him, accusing him of behaving unethically.
Even earlier, lawyers from Boies’ firm had targeted one of the key early whistleblowers against Theranos, a once high-flying medical tech startup on whose board Boies served. The company’s key claim was that it could provide fast, accurate blood tests using tiny amounts of blood; the whistleblower revealed to authorities, and later to journalists, that test results had been manipulated.
Christine Pelosi probably spilled more about what she knows than she should’ve when she tweeted this yesterday:
This Epstein case is horrific and the young women deserve justice. It is quite likely that some of our faves are implicated but we must follow the facts and let the chips fall where they may – whether on Republicans or Democrats. #WeSaidEnough #MeToo https://t.co/2mvskwQwW1

“It is quite likely that some of our faves are implicated…”
The reappearance of Clinton acolyte and attorney, Lanny Davis, a master manipulator of the media, is further reason to question whether we can expect a robust investigation that goes where the facts lead, or whether this will be another Clinton whitewash.
It’s not all that hard to figure out why Democrats have treaded lightly.
There’s this pretty famous Democrat who flew on the “Lolita Express” 26 times with Epstein. https://t.co/UojKAcg6jk

When Jay CaRINO simply pointed out the close relationship that Bill Clinton and Epstein maintained Lanny tried smearing him by accusing him of MCCarthy-like tactics. But, CaRINO was having none of it:
Classic fact-free innuendo. Back to McCarthy era. But worse.

Just wondering, Lanny… what would your reaction be if investigators discovered Donald Trump had made 26 trips on the Lolita Express and had ditched his secret service detail a number of times in the process?
In 2015, The Smoking Gun reported:
As part of a civil suit filed against Epstein by several of his victims, lawyers for the women floated the possibility of subpoenaing Clinton since he “might well be a source of relevant information” about Epstein’s activities.
While Clinton was never deposed, lawyers obtained Epstein’s computerized phone directory, which included “e-mail addresses for Clinton along with 21 phone numbers for him, including those for his assistant (Doug Band),” according to a court filing.
Clinton was never questioned about Epstein. Instead, someone determined that Epstein should be allowed to plead down to a single count of soliciting prostitution. And the Epstein’s cadre of abusers of little girls met zero consequences.
That someone likely directed U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta to offer Epstein the sweetheart plea bargain.
In light of the fact that this is the kind of case that can make a young prosecutor’s career, it’s unlikely Acosta took it upon himself to give such high-profile predators a ‘get out of jail free card.’
Acosta is currently a member of President Trump’s cabinet. He may be our best hope that the predators are brought to justice.
