Border Wall Causes Major Change in One Small Arizona Town

ELDER PATRIOT – Congress continues to resist President Trump’s call for the construction of a wall along our nation’s southern border.  It’ hard to see how a fence would do anything but improve our national security, make our neighborhoods safer, and help restrict the flow of illegal drugs into our country.  Why is Congress against this?

These elites live in gated compounds and are protected by bodyguards.  Why, if walls don’t work do they insist on having them for themselves?

The results of the construction of a wall near one small town in Yuma, Arizona tells us all we need to know.  The wall works!  In fact, the wall was so successful that earlier this year the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee heard testimony from David Aguilar, former Border Patrol Chief and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner that the man-made barrier had prevented 94 percent of illegal border crossings.

Aguilar was so certain of his assertions that he called on Congress to “waive all legal requirements” in order to build the wall as soon as humanly possible.

Could you imagine what would happen to the anti-Trump forces if the entire 2000-mile fence were to be constructed?  Two key constituencies would be crushed before the 2020 election leaving the globalist’s U.S. movement in tatters.

The illegal alien community would cease growing thereby diminishing their political clout.  It’s important to understand that both congressional apportionment and electoral votes are allocated on all residents, not just legal residents of a congressional district.

Also, those in the lower economic demographic would face lessened competition for jobs that would result in a higher percentage of them working at jobs that pay higher wages.  Instead of being government dependents they would soon be chasing their dreams.  As the need public assistance programs shrinks, and more people return to work, voters – who naturally vote their own interests – would shift their reasons for voting to lower taxes and less government.

This presents a direct threat to anti-Trump globalists whose policies rely on ever increasing government dependence to convince voters that the elites know better than they do what they need to live their lives.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has put a ludicrous constraint on the building of any border wall – it must be revenue neutral.  That means it must be paid for within the same fiscal year.  Imagine putting that condition on the cost of your college education.

According to Newsmax, the total cost of welfare benefits to households headed by immigrants is over $103 billion annually.  If only 10% are here illegally and have entered through our southern border that would make this an outstanding investment in lowering our annual deficit for many years well into the future.

But, a wall would also greatly reduce the cost of enforcing our southern border that, according to The Economist, currently costs us $18 billion annually.

Daniel Sayani writing for The New American discussed the costs of providing medical care to illegal aliens in only three border states: “the costs of medical care for immigrants are staggering. The estimated cost of unreimbursed medical care in 2004 in California was about $1.4 billion per year. In Texas, the estimated cost was about $8.5 billion, and in Arizona the comparable estimate was $4 billion per year.”

Add in the cost of building and staffing schools, increased policing costs, increased court costs including public defenders, increased FBI surveillance costs, increased auto insurance rates to cover uninsured immigrant drivers, the costs associated with displaced native-born workers that includes welfare and unemployment costs, the devastating effects of violent crime, etc., etc., reveals that the political foes lining up against Trump on this issue do not have your best interests at heart.

The elites?  You may elect them but they serve other masters.
