Elder Patriot – If you want to see the end result of liberal policies then look no further than California where self-loathing liberals have voted to drag their neighbors into bankruptcy so that illegal aliens can mow their lawns.
But, the depth of their self-loathing was never believed to be as extreme as what they have accepted from their state legislature and Governor Jerry Brown at the end of last week.
First be forewarned. This is not a parody. I will quote straight from the liberal’s reportorial bible, CNN.
(CNN)- Starting January 1, 2018, it will no longer be a major crime in California to knowingly expose a sexual partner to HIV without disclosing the infection. Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation on Friday that lowers the offense from a felony to a misdemeanor.
The California legislature passed SB 239 on September 11.
The law previously punished people who knowingly exposed or infected others with HIV by up to eight years in prison. This new legislation will lower jail time to a maximum of six months.
The new law also reduces the penalty for knowingly donating HIV-infected blood from a felony to a misdemeanor.
The sponsors of this lunacy are, of course, both Democrats. Sen. Scott Wiener and Assemblyman Todd Gloria, argued California law was outdated and stigmatized people living with HIV, given recent advancements in medicine. According to the evidence they cited, a person with HIV who undergoes regular treatment has a negligible chance of spreading the infection to others through sexual contact.
This may or may not be true. But, here is something that is indisputably true – welcoming illegal immigrants whose medical conditions are unknown, and almost always untreated, puts every Californian at increased risk. The law provides no cut-out for them.
So let’s put this in perspective. At the same time Democrats are efforting to strip more than 80 million law-abiding Americans of their Constitutional right to own guns, California Dems are passing laws that literally play Russian Roulette with their constituents’ health to curry favor with 137,000 HIV-positive Californians.
As California Senator Jeff Stone, who is also a licensed pharmacist, advised his colleagues prior to the vote, three out of four people who are on prescription medication in the United States do not comply with their doctor’s orders on how to take it:
“If you don’t take your AIDS medications and you allow for some virus to duplicate and show a presence, then you are able to transmit that disease to an unknowing partner.”
Liberal doctrine has brought us to a point where men need a signed affidavit from their sexual partner to protect them from later being charged with rape. Considering the costly treatment and life-altering effect of living with HIV, don’t the partners of HIV positive patients deserve to at least know the risk they are running?
