Winning: House Freedom Caucus Seizes Leadership From Ryan

ELDER PATRIOT – With the defeat of “Mitchcare” Republican leadership has proven incapable of getting the work of the American people done.  Make no mistake, this was an epic failure of leadership by House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

There could not have been a worse healthcare bill that needed fixing than Obamacare and yet they failed to find any agreement on fixing it in any way.

Now, new leadership has stepped to the fore demanding what should’ve been done from the beginning – repeal the monstrosity in its entirety, force insurers and medical professionals to compete for the dollars of productive Americans, and address the needs of the most indigent among us in the most cost effective way possible.

House Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) has now taken the lead and joined with President Donald J. Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in pushing for Congress to send a clean repeal of Obamacare to the president’s desk immediately.

Paul Ryan’s “American Health Care Act,” that did little more than change the name on Obamacare, was soundly defeated in the House as his once bright and rising star has been dimmed considerably.  It wasn’t until Ryan left the country on a junket that Meadows led the House negotiations that resulted in a bill acceptable to both conservative and moderate Republicans.

Now Meadows is displaying the same bold leadership with his call for repeal last night:

During an interview with Breitbart News this morning Meadows said, “The Senate should continue to negotiate on the replacement bill but at a minimum give President Trump the opportunity to sign into law something that Barack Obama vetoed.”  Meadows was referring to the 2015 bill repealing Obamacare in its entirety that was vetoed by then President Obama after having been passed by Republicans in both houses of Congress.

Meadows reiterated President Trump’s earlier tweet:

When he demanded that,  “The Senate must act and if 51 senators vote for it the House will find 218 votes to pass it.”

Meadows is showing everyone what leadership should look like.  It’s time for the voters in Wisconsin’s 1st District to take note and send Ryan into early retirement if the House can’t find the integrity to strip him of his leadership role.

Meadows knows that without Obamacare repeal Trump’s tax reform plan is D.O.A. because of the CBO’s arcane static scoring methodology that was put in place by Democrats for times like this when they don’t have power otherwise.

This appears to be the establishment Republicans last chance to block Trump’s agenda by stalling it in its tracks.  The market has already factored in the expectation that Trump will get both tax reform and a far better and less onerous health care package.

That means if he doesn’t get these reforms, and Janet Yellen raises interest rates, we are likely going to see the $4 trillion dollars in wealth that has been gained since his election totally eviscerated.

With tax reform comes the repatriation of perhaps as much as $5 trillion from money currently sitting overseas avoiding the existing onerous taxes that would be charged if it were to be invested in the USA now.  That is a boost to the economy we cannot afford to miss.

Why aren’t Ryan and McConnell being asked about all of this?  This isn’t rocket science.
