ELDER PATRIOT – The Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms has been scrubbed to now exclude any reference to psychological operations (psyops) but, thanks to Wikileaks, the uncensored Dictionary from the end of George Bush’s administration is available online to those who search hard enough. Here’s how the military defines psyops:
“Planned operations to convey selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of foreign governments, organizations, groups, and individuals. The purpose of psychological operations is to induce or reinforce foreign attitudes and behavior favorable to the originator’s objectives.”
Let’s change a few nouns to change the targets but not the strategy and see how it reads:
“Planned political operations to convey selectively altered information through a friendly mainstream media to influence the emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of voters, the candidates support organizations, groups, and individuals. The purpose of psychological operations is to induce or reinforce the attitude that an election has already been decided and that voters will vote favorably to the originator’s objectives.”
Now here’s John Podesta’s email discussing doing exactly that:
The email chain began with a request by Podesta for recommendations on selective oversampling to “maximize what we get out of our media polling.” Podesta directly referenced oversampling Hispanics and Native Americans and using Spanish language interviewing. He directly advises limiting polling of the elderly while getting the largest number of blacks included. Podesta instructs polling in wider regions to be conducted inside the inner cities to the greatest extent possible. He also suggests that whenever possible polling be conducted in areas that had previously voted most favorably to the Democratic Party and on progressive issues.
Ask yourself why anyone concerned with orchestrating a winning campaign would want anything but the most accurate poll results in order to hone their message to appeal to the greatest number of voters?
The only possible benefit from rigged polling results is to use those results to conduct a psyop against the broader electorate in order to sway the gullible segment of that electorate who are so completely ignorant about the issues they only want to be associated with the “winner.”
