Elder Patriot – In politics the players break laws without consequence because, sadly, perception means everything. And, that perception is driven by an out-of-control mainstream media that relies on the basic ignorance of the voting public.
How else can a slimy, corrupt, Deputy Attorney General ride roughshod over a popularly elected POTUS? That truth was underscored once again this week.
After three days the Secret Service and the FBI identified the so called #MagaBomber. As President Trump correctly characterized the investigation, they found a needle in a haystack.
But when it comes to President Trump, despite conducting two years of covert surveillance, they have found nothing with which to charge POTUS.
The initial FISA application was obtained using false pretenses making the warrant illegal. Two years later the special counsel, with the benefit of that illegal advantage, still has nothing.
In fact, it is President Trump who holds the evidence of the CIA-FBI-DOJ-State Department false construct that was used to create the perception that Trump had colluded with the Russians.
That means President Trump would be within his rights and doing Americans a favor by cleaning house at these corrupted agencies. And, the president possesses the authority to declassify those documents that can prove the illegal conspiracy that was waged against him.
President Trump’s supporters, who have grown accustomed to this president fulfilling his promises, are right to ask why he hasn’t drained this portion of the swamp as he promised to do during his campaign.
The answer comes from investigative reporter Lee Smith writing for Real Clear Investigations:
In court filings last week the Department of Justice deployed what could be the nuclear option in its latest effort to prevent President Trump from declassifying information regarding FISA warrants used to spy on his campaign aide Carter Page: It is claiming that such a move would interfere with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
In the 178-page court document, DOJ officials said they had “determined that disclosure of redacted information in the Carter Page FISA documents could reasonably be expected to interfere with the pending investigation into Russian election interference.”
That’s patently absurd. The DOJ has pivoted from claims that national security would be compromised by declassification – something the release of the documents would prove false – to implying that President Trump would be interfering with the special counsel’s investigation and therefore open him up to charges of obstruction of justice.
That rationale has heightened suspicions among congressional investigators that the special counsel is being used to prevent the disclosure of possible FBI abuses and crimes committed during the Russia probe.
This strategy would not be possible with an inquiring, balanced media. Unfortunately, we have anything but that. The swamp, that includes the mainstream media, protects itself.
“The obstruction trap was built into the special counsel,” a congressional investigator told RCI, speaking, like the two other sources in this article, only on condition of anonymity. “If Trump fires Mueller, or Rosenstein, or declassifies documents [embarrassing to the FBI] it’s likely to bring an obstruction charge.”
And that would mean double jeopardy for Trump. “Obstruction is the instrument the Democrats are likely to use to impeach Trump if they win the House,” said the congressional source.
This scenario relegates the law subservient to political considerations. If Trump moves ahead of the midterms, the media will excoriate him over the next 11 days and imperil the chances of Republican candidates across the country.
President Trump needs to hold the House – and Republican control of the committee chairmanships – lest these agencies fail to be held accountable and the government plunges into a dysfunctional he said-she said of accusations during which time the mainstream media will become more emboldened than ever.
President Trump has little choice but to wait until the midterms are over and hope he holds the House. He is doing his part maintaining a hectic schedule crisscrossing the country urging his supporters to back Republican candidates.
If you voted for Trump because he promised to drain the swamp, you must do your part and vote Red. No matter what the arguments may be in your Congressional district, the most important aspect of your vote is it’s potential to determine control of the House.
Democrats believe in centralized big government. Don’t make the mistake of handing it to them.
Hold your nose if you have to but vote Republican. One lost seat may result in endless investigations and impeachment – and the end of the MAGA movement.
We either own the House or we relinquish the one chance we have to wrest control of our government back from the forces of evil.
