Elder Patriot – Bill O’Reilly and Lanny Davis are two seasoned warriors from opposite sides of the political aisle. Now that they are pretty much out of the fray their ability to hold an honest discussion can be quite revealing.
Davis, who served both Clinton’s loyally opened up to O’Reilly about James Comey as the disgraced former FBI director prepares to embark on his blame Trump tour. Davis says the Inspector General has some incriminating evidence regarding Comey’s handling of the HRC email investigation because he (Davis) gave it to him:
“I was interviewed by the Inspector General. I have only told one reporter that and it was never written. This is my first time to say that I was interviewed after, I, making a phone call and researching my book, that I consider James Comey to have acted unethically and he should have been fired by Barack Obama and Loretta Lynch because he violated Justice Department policies by holding a press conference and expressing his opinion publicly on the evidence. That’s a firing offense. His decision to write a letter eleven days before the election, that hurt Clinton or hurt Trump was not consistent with fifty years of Justice Department policy to do nothing that might impact the presidential election.
[I told the Inspector General] and I gave them documents that were never seen before but posted two months after the election, that showed that the whole email investigation was botched. So, I think that’s where I think the Inspector General will come down on Comey very hard as well as on McCabe.”
