U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes All But Says Corrupt Obama FBI Chief, James Comey Will Be Indicted

Elder Patriot – U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) joined Fox News Trace Gallagher to discuss the fallout from the IG Report referring former FBI Director James Comey for prosecution, and the left’s latest propaganda spin on that determination.

Benjamin Wittes, whose ability to contort the law into an unconstitutional dung heap has become the salvation of every leftist in the D.C. sewer system, delivered his expected defense of the indefensible.

Benjamin Wittes: “The remarkable thing about this report is that the Inspector General of the Justice Department has effectively taken the position that if you are a law enforcement officer and the president tries to shut down a valid investigation, your obligation is to shut up.”

Wittes failed to mention that the IG he was referring to, Michael Horowitz, was nominated by Barack Obama and approved unanimously by Senate Democrats.

Wittes also failed to mention that Obama’s Deputy Attorney General, Sally Yates – she reported directly to Loretta Lynch – blocked Horowitz from investigating the National Security Division of the DOJ,what we believe to be the hub of the Spygate conspiracy.

It was only after Donald Trump became president that Obama-appointed Inspector General Michael Horowitz was able to open an investigation into the 2015-2016 politicization of the FBI and DOJ.

Essentially, the Obama administration was able to inoculate themselves from everything they were doing to weaponize our intelligence community by claiming it was done to protect national security.

James Clapper:  “I don’t think there is a rulebook for this extraordinary situation involving a potential criminality of a president.  And, so Jim [Comey] did what he thought was the right thing to do for the country.”

That might be arguable had there been a legitimate predicate to investigate the opposition candidate, and then the president, other than political differences.  But, there wasn’t.

That’s why there was such a freak out when U.S. Attorney General William Barr told Congress that he was opening an investigation into the origins of spy operations against the Trump campaign.

Rep. Shaheen: “And, can you share with us why you feel the need to do that?”

AG Barr: “Well, for the same reason we’re concerned about foreign influence in elections.  We want to make sure that during elections… spying on a political campaign is a big deal.

[…]

“… there were a lot of rules put in place to make sure that there was adequate basis before our law enforcement agencies get involved in political surveillance.

“I’m not suggesting those rules were violated but I think it’s important to look at that.

“I’m not talking about the FBI necessarily but intelligence agencies more broadly.”

Now listen to Rep. Devin Nunes during an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson earlier this month:

Nunes: “Just because the DOJ is not going to act under that recommendation does not mean that he’s not going to be further looked at.  So remember, the U.S. Attorney in Connecticut, now is taking all of this information in.

“So he’s taking in our criminal referral, for example.  I haven’t disclosed who we’ve referred criminally, but one could guess it’s highly likely that we would name people who have leaked classified information.

[…]

If I was James Comey, I wouldn’t be walking in the cornfields of Iowa yet, running for president.”

That’s the reason why during his conversation with Gallagher, Nunes called the 83-page IG Report on Comey, a building block.

Nunes: We’ve briefed the Department of Justice on eight criminal referrals.  Two of those are involving conspiracies.

One conspiracy claim that we make is they abused the FISA process and

they conspired to do it, and they broke a bunch of laws.

So clearly, being that Comey was sent by the Crossfire Hurricane team that was investigating Donald Trump’s team, he was sent to gather information from the president.

Because of that, we know for sure that Comey was part of that conspiracy.
