Trump Shows Up to the Army-Navy Game and Something Amazing Happens

ELDER PATRIOT – Wow! What a difference a change of presidents makes. Presidents have made it a tradition to attend the annual Army-Navy football game as a show of support for the young men and women who are working diligently to become the next generation of military leaders.

Because of the nature of the commitment players owe following their time at the academies the players aren’t the very best but the stadium is full of patriotic Americans who want to show their support. They are rewarded with the most spirited football anywhere.

Our uniformed service members are not permitted to make political statements so the president’s entrance allows them a unique opportunity to cheer their approval for the man who is their Commander-in-Chief or, to remain silent.

Yesterday was the 117th edition of the storied game between the Midshipmen of Navy and Army’s Black Knights and when Donald Trump was spotted entering the stadium the crowd erupted into cheers.

It’s clear that the troops are excited by Trump’s decision to appoint Marine Corps General James “Mad Dog” Mattis to head the Department of Defense. Mattis is a no nonsense leader who will end the use of the military for the progressives’ social engineering schemes and restore it to being the most efficient killing machine on earth.

For those that think every president is greeted with cheers watch this video of President Barack Obama’s entrance at the 2011 game.

Except for the cheering of the person making the video recording, who admits to being a progressive 65 seconds into the video, the crowd is primarily silent.

During the campaign Trump told us to get ready to win again. Well, this week he was 5-0.

He went 3-0 against Jill Stein’s recounts and then brought his winning ways to the game.

Trump spent the first half in the box of David Urban, a West Point graduate and Republican adviser. And then he kept with tradition and switched sides to watch the second half in the box of retired Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North, a graduate of Annapolis.

While he was on the Army side they won the first half 14-0. After he switched sides Navy won the second half 17-7.

That made him 5-0 for the week. The man is a winner. We’re lucky to have him.
