“The General Election Scenario that Democrats are Dreading” Can Only Leave You Feeling That They Hate Your Success

Occasionally a seminal moment suddenly brings everything into clear focus.  A recent article that appeared in Politico entitled “The general election scenario that Democrats are dreading” provides such a moment.

Left-wing Politico describes one of Obama’s top economic advisors warning a gathering of political officials… Good news for America means bad news for Democrats.

(Politico) In early April, Jason Furman, a top economist in the Obama administration and now a professor at Harvard, was speaking via Zoom to a large bipartisan group of top officials from both parties. The economy had just been shut down, unemployment was spiking and some policymakers were predicting an era worse than the Great Depression. The economic carnage seemed likely to doom President Donald Trump’s chances at reelection.

Furman, tapped to give the opening presentation, looked into his screen of poorly lit boxes of frightened wonks and made a startling claim.

“We are about to see the best economic data we’ve seen in the history of this country,” he said.

The former Cabinet secretaries and Federal Reserve chairs in the Zoom boxes were confused, though some of the Republicans may have been newly relieved and some of the Democrats suddenly concerned.

“Everyone looked puzzled and thought I had misspoken,” Furman said in an interview. Instead of forecasting a prolonged Depression-level economic catastrophe, Furman laid out a detailed case for why the months preceding the November election could offer Trump the chance to brag — truthfully — about the most explosive monthly employment numbers and gross domestic product growth ever.

There it was in a nutshell… If it’s good for America, if it’s good for you and your family, it’s bad for Democrats.

Suddenly, it all became clear.  As reporters and commentators for CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times and the Washington Post appeared giddy over the rising death totals and the plummeting economic numbers, the revelation of the Left’s hatred of American success became blindingly obvious…

Abortion right up until birth, their coddling of dictatorial foreign regimes – China, Iran, Russia – the destruction of our once great healthcare system, the regulatory burdens placed on small main street businesses that drove them to bankruptcy, their looting of the social security “trust,” open borders, mass immigration (both legal and illegal) and the hollowing out of the once great American culture, among other things, no policy proposal of the Left… no matter how they package it now with the benefit of hindsight… nothing was intended to make or keep America great.

Even as the country wallowed in massive job losses due to lockdowns with Democrat governors seemingly deliberately worsened the economic carnage with draconian lockdown decrees, Democrats advanced the idea of unrestricted voting open to everyone who could get their hands on a ballot.

Massive spending increases, largely due to Democrat policy, has led to an unconscionable debt load for our children.  And, their children.  Which brings us to a 1966 strategy for forcing the acceptance of socialism through crisis.

The Cloward-Piven strategy:

First proposed in 1966 and named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and his wife Frances Fox Piven (both longtime members of the Democratic Socialists of America, where Piven today is an honorary chair), the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse…

… Cloward and Piven published an article titled “The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty” in the May 2, 1966 issue of The Nation. Following its publication, The Nation sold an unprecedented 30,000 reprints. Activists were abuzz over the so-called “crisis strategy” or “Cloward-Piven Strategy,” as it came to be called. Many were eager to put it into effect.

The movement slowly made headway as Democrats and weak-kneed Republicans insisted on expanding government into virtually every area of our lives.

Until finally, voters elected the first openly “activist” president.  Under Barack Hussein Obama, America more than doubled all of the previous debt accumulated throughout our entire history… with little economic expansion accompanying it.

All the while, Obama followed the lead of previous administration’s and sidled up to totalitarian regimes in Iran, China, and Russia.

Now as we watch China forcibly take freedom from Hong Kong we can say, except for the election of President Trump, we were on the same trajectory…

The only difference between the people of Hong Kong and We the People of America is the ability to protect of our freedoms afforded us by our Second Amendment.

Had Hillary been elected president it’s unlikely, given the all out assault on gun rights early in Trump’s administration, that we’d still have the ability to protect ourselves from the tyranny that is planned for us.

There, but for the grace of God, go us.
