In Response to Congressional Intransigence Trump Prepares to Close Southern Border

Elder Patriot| President Trump has done everything he could to bring Democrats and McConnell’s Decepticon Republicans into the discussion about fixing the crisis at our southern border.

Trump understands that doing nothing is not a viable alternative.  The status quo is anything but.

The American people overwhelmingly agree with President Trump.

The latest Harvard/Harris Poll finds approximately 3-in-4 American voters favor a populist-nationalist “America First” legal immigration, trade, and foreign policy platform from candidates running for office that prioritizes protecting the way of life and economic security of United States citizens above all else

At the current rate (100,000 this month alone) the illegal entrants are crossing into our country, within ten years, there’ll be an additional 13,000,000 illegal residents further diminishing the votes of American citizens.  And placing a greater financial burden on our already overtaxed social welfare and other systems.

Across racial lines, the vast majority of white Americans, 79 percent, and black Americans, 75 percent, said they would support a candidate who said they wanted an immigration system that benefited American citizens, rather than foreign nationals.

A total of 65 percent of voters said they would be more likely to support candidates who touted imposing $250 billion worth of tariffs on China, as Trump has done. This economic nationalist policy platform on trade garners support from 87 percent of Republicans, 61 percent of swing voters, and 89 percent of Trump supporters.

President Trump tweeted his disgust today:

For political reasons, President Trump identifies Democrats as the problem, and they are unanimously complicit, but the GOPe (establishment) are just as bad.

Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio, Roy Blunt, Pat Toomey, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Roger Wicker, Rob Portman, Lamar Alexander, and Jerry Moran all voted against Trump’s National Emergency declaration.

All can reliably be counted on to do the bidding of Wall Street, the multinationals (banks and corps), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Roundtable.

Rand Paul and Mike Lee also voted against Trump’s declaration but are strict constitutionalists.  Their votes were a statement in defense of Congress’ right to control the purse. With more than $21,000,000,000,000 in debt, we see what a great job of that they’re doing.

Trump rightly sees this as an invasion and is signaling he will not tolerate it.  He is one of the few patriots in a position of leadership. And the only one who is empowered to do something about it.

As a result of congressional intransigence and in response to the crisis at the southern border Trump has signaled his intention to close the that border beginning next week.
