Red Alert: House Republicans Vote to Fund a Ministry of Truth

“We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it.”

George Orwell, 1984Paul Ryan 2016

ELDER PATRIOT – In 1948 George Orwell penned a novel that depicted a totalitarian state in which citizens are forbidden to do almost everything.  Their subservience was achieved through the control of the media under the auspices of The Ministry of Truth that was in charge of destroying evidence, changing facts and creating propaganda for the masses.

Last week, under the leadership of Speaker Paul Ryan the House of Representatives laid the groundwork to fund a real Ministry of Truth.

On November 30th, the House of Representatives under the directions of its Speaker Paul Ryan passed H.R. 6393: “Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017.”  Contained within the bill is “Title V—Matters relating to foreign countries.”  Section 501 calls for the government to “counter active measures by Russia to exert covert influence … carried out in coordination with, or at the behest of, political leaders or the security services of the Russian Federation and the role of the Russian Federation has been hidden or not acknowledged publicly.”

The section lists the following definitions of media manipulation:

  • Establishment or funding of a front group.
  • Covert broadcasting.
  • Media manipulation.
  • Disinformation and forgeries.
  • Funding agents of influence.
  • Incitement and offensive counterintelligence.
  • Assassinations.
  • Terrorist acts.

Who gets to decide what is the truth?  Will it be the same politicians who have spent us $20 trillion in debt, have authorized endless wars, stolen our Social Security so that it now faces a $38 trillion shortfall, tells us that unfettered immigration – legal and illegal – is good for our national character, and that now seeks to silence people like me for writing “fake news” after they sat on the sidelines and allowed George Soros and others like him to attack the foundations of our nation?

It’s clear that Washington’s tyrants led by Paul Ryan are intent on establishing their own process for determining what we, the people can and will read and hear and that they are determined to get this passed and signed into law before President Obama leaves office.

As Tyler Durden notes in an article on, “If this bill were to become law – it stills needs Senate approval and the president’s signature – it can be relied on to target, threaten, or eliminate so-called “fake news” websites, a list which has been used to arbitrarily define any website, or blog, that does not share the mainstream media’s proclivity to serve as the Public Relations arm of a given administration.”

James Madison, the author of our Constitution warned that, “The means of defense against foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home.”

As usual, establishment politicians, bought and paid for by the globalist movement, refuse to heed Madison’s warning.  In fact, they are doing exactly what Madison was afraid they’d do, hide behind the pretense of defending the state to justify increasing their power over the people by stripping us of our freedoms.

Now, under cover of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) government will determine what is true and what is not true.  Could there be a less responsible agent to decide such matters?  Especially since the mainstream media’s attempt to derail Donald Trump’s ascendancy has proven that establishment politicians are more interested in advancing the agendas of their donors than they are in protecting the freedom and safety of their constituents.  And, that the media will go to any lengths they can to support them in that quest.

In his autobiography David Rockefeller is quoted:

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40 years.  It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supernational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national autodetermination practiced in past centuries.”

Rockefeller never realized that a new media was emerging to challenge the new world order that he envisioned.

Just as is appeared the globalist control over the mainstream media was going to hand them a victory in their drive for a one world government, the development and growth of the Internet and social media breathed new life into the free flow of information and opinion.  As with every other media platform it is subject to lies and disinformation.  But, the remedy for that is more openness not less.

Once again we can turn to Madison for guidance, “The advancement and diffusion of knowledge is the only guardian of true liberty.”

If this election proved one thing it’s that Americans are more than able to sift through an abundance of information, disinformation and conflicting opinions and get it right when they have mostly unfettered access to it all.

Madison was afraid it might someday come to this that is why he authored the First Amendment.

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The fact that this congress and Speaker Ryan believes they have the authority to limit discourse in the public square should be an overriding reason for replacing every one of 390 legislators who voted for it.
