Elder Patriot – Democrats are being forced to abandon Antifa and the radical left within their party – including Maxine Waters – as they begin to come to terms with the fact that Donald Trump may be the cleanest man in Washington’s power structure.
Trump is so clean in fact that Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) was forced to admit to an audience of 850 liberals in San Francisco that President Trump was going to be president for at least his entire first term.
That was Tuesday. Feinstein should know whereof she talks. She is the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee giving her access to the latest information that has been uncovered during the ongoing investigations into Trump.
Then Democratic House Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) issued a statement denouncing the violent left-wing Antifa protesters and saying they deserve “unequivocal condemnation.”
Pelosi’s denouncement came after Antifa’s latest violent outbreak took place at Berkeley this weekend but not until after the city’s mayor declared it was time to confront Antifa’s violence:
“I think we should classify them as a gang,” said Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin. “They come dressed in uniforms. They have weapons, almost like a militia and I think we need to think about that in terms of our law enforcement approach.”
I think we are going to have to think ‘big picture’ about what is the strategy for how we are going to deal with these violent elements on the left as well. We also need to hold accountable and encourage people not to associate with these extremists because it empowers them and gives them cover.”
This forced Pelosi who had previously called for the House to censure Trump over his response to Charlottesville to admit that Trump was correct in his original assessment and condemnation of all of the participants in the violence that day.
The text of Pelosi’s statement follows:
“Our democracy has no room for inciting violence or endangering the public, no matter the ideology of those who commit such acts. The violent actions of people calling themselves Antifa in Berkeley this weekend deserve unequivocal condemnation, and the perpetrators should be arrested and prosecuted.”
“In California, as across all of our great nation, we have deep reverence for the Constitutional right to peaceful dissent and free speech. Non-violence is fundamental to that right. Let us use this sad event to reaffirm that we must never fight hate with hate, and to remember the values of peace, openness and justice that represent the best of America.”
The significance of this cannot be overstated. Clearly the radical Antifa protesters are far greater in number, and have caused far more property damage and have directed far more violence towards others since Donald Trump became a serious presidential contender than anything the so-called far right – KKK, Neo-Nazis – has committed.
There are also the tens, perhaps hundreds, of millions of dollars that Democratic donors gave to these radically violent groups Antifa, Black Lives Matter, La Raza, Puente Human Rights Movement, Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF,) and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), under Barack Obama’s prompting that is now blowing up in their faces.
Pelosi’s statement leaves her Republican counterpart, Speaker Paul Ryan alone in his condemnation of President Trump. Unless, that is, you count other Republicans, Mitch McConnell and Mitt Romney who are also so cowed by political correctness and their hatred of Trump that they refuse to admit his remarks were spot on from the beginning.
Ryan covets Trump’s job but his incessant opposition to, and under-handed treatment of, the president has left people questioning if he’s even up to continuing in the role of Speaker.
President Trump’s bold leadership and honest dialogue is forcing Washington’s culture of deceit to change.
