On October 29th, In an Effort to Hide Suspected Obama Administration Corruption, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman May Have Talked Himself Into a Court Martial

On October 29th Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman appeared before Adam Schiff’s impeachment committee wearing his full dress uniform where he gave testimony against the President of the United States.

Vindman’s testimony centered on criticism of President Trump’s phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Vindman contends that President Trump violated some code of conduct for asking President Zelensky for help with a corruption probe because it involved a candidate for office.

Seriously!  After what they put candidate Trump, President-elect Trump, and then President Trump though, Vindman has the audacity to suggest Trump was out of line!

(CTH) The word “coup” shifted to a new level of formalized meaning last week when members of the political resistance showed up to remove President Trump wearing military uniforms.

Not only did U.S. military leadership remain silent to the optics and purpose, but in the testimony of Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman he admits to giving instructions to ignore the instructions from a sitting United States President.

Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman is a director of the National Security Council.  From that position he is to provide counsel to the president. Only. He does not have the authority to set policy.  Only the president has that authority given to him by the people of the United States.

As the hearing unfolded, U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) proceeded to filet the lt. Col. under questioning.

Congressman Ratcliffe was able to get Vindman to acknowledge that he was familiar with the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty with Ukraine, that he disagreed with the president’s Ukraine policy with respect to his attempt to enforce that treaty, and that he advised his Ukrainian counterpart to ignore POTUS’ request in that regard.

Taken together, Vindman’s actions constitute potential Article 92 and Article 88 violations that could result in his court martial.

U.S. Code § 892.Art. 92. Failure to obey order or regulation

Any person subject to this chapter who—

(1)violates or fails to obey any lawful general order or regulation;

(2)having knowledge of any other lawful order issued by a member of the armed forces, which it is his duty to obey, fails to obey the order; or

(3)is derelict in the performance of his duties;

shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

U.S. Code § 888.Art. 88. Contempt toward officials

Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

The evidence against Vindman is likely to get worse.

Recall this exchange between Kelly O’Donnell of NBC News and President Trump just days after Vindman’s testimony:

Kelly O’Donnell asked the president whether he regrets calling Vindman a “Never Trumper.”

Trump: “Well you’ll be seeing very soon what comes out and then you can ask the question in a different way.”

Every president swears an oath to protect and defend the Constitution against enemies, foreign and domestic.  The Constitution commands the president:

Article II. Section. 3. [The President] … shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, …

The Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty with Ukraine is one tool available to the president to help him root out corruption that might exist between elements of the two countries.

Then on Friday, counter puncher Trump told reporters that he was likely to release the transcript of an earlier call he had with Ukrainian President Zelensky.  That call took place in April.

The contents of that call may not only further incriminate Vindman, but it may explain the reason Joe Biden announced his decision to run for president on April 25th.

According to the president’ attorney, Rudy Giuliani, he had significant evidence of “corruption at the highest levels of the Obama administration” prior to former Vice President Joe Biden running for office.

That raises the question; Did Biden decide to run in order to mount an offensive attack against President Trump as a way of turning any investigation of his corruption and the corruption of the Obama administration into a political melodrama?
