(New York Post) Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein died overnight in an apparent suicide, law enforcement sources told the Post Saturday.
Two weeks ago, Epstein, 66, was placed on suicide watch after he was found nearly unconscious in his cell with injuries to his neck.
Elder Patriot – Make what you will of this news but, for this observer, it’s hard to understand how a person on suicide watch is able to commit suicide.
Epstein, who was taken into custody by authorities in early July, is alleged to have sexually abused dozens of young girls in his Upper East Side townhouse and his waterfront mansion in Palm, Beach, Florida, between 2002 and 2005.
One accuser, Courtney Wild told the Miami Herald that she was 14 and still wearing braces when she recruited girls for him:
“By the time I was 16, I had probably brought him 70 to 80 girls who were all 14 and 15 years old. He was involved in my life for years. He told me he wanted them as young as I could find them. … He wanted as many girls as I could get him. It was never enough.”
After Epstein’s arrest, his case was turned over to the SDNY for prosecution.
That’s the same SDNY that has spent enormous time and resources targeting President Trump, his charitable foundation, the Trump Organization, and all of his other businesses and associates, in a politically motivated act of prosecutorial overreach.
From the beginning we had questions whether such a politically biased prosecutorial group would be interested in conducting a fair investigation. With Epstein’s death, our reservations may be proving to be warranted.
Roughly 2,000 pages of court documents unsealed Friday revealed that dozens of high-profile DEMOCRATS were named by another Epstein accuser, Virginia Roberts-Giuffre. They included Maine Sen. George Mitchell and ex-New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.
Richardson was a powerful Democrat who was also U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Energy Secretary in the Clinton administration, a U.S. Congressman, chairman of the 2004 Democratic National Convention, and chairman of the Democratic Governors Association.
George Mitchell, another powerful Democrat, served as a United States Senator from Maine from 1980 to 1995 and as Senate Majority Leader from 1989 to 1995.
Also named were billionaire and major donor Glenn Dubin, MIT professor Marvin Minksy, Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz and England’s Prince Andrew.
According to the Miami Herald video from November 2018, these are excerpts from Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s 2015 sworn court affidavit:
One day later Epstein is dead. Unable to give testimony in exchange for a plea deal. Instead, Epstein is silenced.
Whether Epstein committed suicide or was the victim of in an effort to silence him is not known.
But the involvement of the SDNY, and the blatant political bias it has shown against President Trump, gives us reason to suspect foul play… something we’ve witnessed from the FBI and DOJ all too often in the past.
