Elder Patriot – A new blockbuster revelation further confirms that Barack Obama subversion of the interests of America’s most reliable Middle East ally, Israel, in favor of advancing the interests of, or in this case protecting, the world’s leading funder of terrorism, Iran.
Israeli newspaper, Haaretz regularly relies on information supplied by a Kuwaiti newspaper, Al Jaridi.
In recent years Al Jaridi has broken a number of exclusive stories from its Israeli connections. Within the Arab world, Al Jaridi is widely seen as an Israeli platform for conveying messages to the broader Middle East.
Around the New Year, Al Jaridi quoted one of its sources in Jerusalem as having told the newspaper “there is an American-Israeli agreement” naming Soleimani as a “threat to the two countries’ interests in the region” and that President Trump has agreed to an Israeli plan to assassinate Soleimani.
To be clear who the Israelis are targeting we turn to an op-ed that appeared in the Washington Times last year, written by Kenneth R. Timmerman, the Executive Director of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran. Timmerman left no doubt about the threat that Soleimani poses; “After Osama bin Laden, he [Soleimani] has more American blood on his hand than any terrorist.”
Since Timmerman’s column, Soleimani has continued conducting military operations and terror attacks across the Middle East with the goal of spreading Iranian hegemony.
Last month at a press conference inside a military hangar at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, in Washington, D.C., UN Ambassador Nikki Haley stood in front of a pile ballistic missile parts recovered from a Houhti rebel base in Yemen and said, “The weapons might as well have ‘Made in Iran’ stickers on them.”
Haley accused Iran of violating United Nations resolutions for having delivered missiles to the Houthi rebels who used them in an attack on the Riyadh airport in Saudi Arabia.
As commander of the Quds Force the transfer of those missiles to the Houhtis could only have taken place with the approval of Soleimani.
This brings us back to the Al Jaridi report.
In the same story that reveals the current plan to assassinate Soleimani, Al Jaridi reveals a previous Israeli threat to take out the Quds Commander that was thwarted by Obama.
Al Jaridi reported that three years ago Obama provided Iran with intelligence detailing a similar Israeli plot back at that time. That plot was successfully thwarted because of the information Obama had supplied.
The timing of Obama sharing this Intel with Iran’s Supreme Leaders is another example of Obama’s determination to guarantee the terrorist nation becomes a nuclear power.
The events of this incident, coming as close to Obama’s Iranian nuclear giveaway, as it did, stands as stark evidence of the lengths this president would go to protect both the nuclear deal and the terrorists who support it.
This fits a pattern of decisions made by Obama that appear aimed at guaranteeing Iran a clear path to developing nuclear weapons.
Just a month ago Politico described how a Justice Department task force preparing to put an end to Hezbollah’s billion dollar cocaine trafficking and money laundering scheme that was being conducted inside the United States, was shut down under orders from Obama.
Hezbollah is an Iranian-backed terrorist group whose U.S. based criminal enterprise was poisoning Americans with drugs and funneling more than a billion dollars annually back into funding terrorist plots.
Obama didn’t want to risk upsetting the Mullahs prior to signing the Iran Nuclear Agreement; an agreement that did nothing more than put a timetable on Iran’s nuclear weapons development.
Let’s not kid ourselves; Obama has been working to align U.S. foreign policy with Iran since before he became president.
Michael Ledeen recounted how Obama opened a backchannel to Iran during the 2008 presidential campaign. Ledeen said the backchannel went through retired Ambassador William G. Miller, who also led the 1979 negotiating mission during the Iran hostage crisis. Ledeen wrote that Miller confirmed his backchannel involvement to him.
“The actual strategy is detente first, and then a full alliance with Iran throughout the Middle East and North Africa. It has been on display since before the beginning of the Obama administration. During his first presidential campaign in 2008, Mr. Obama used a secret backchannel to Tehran to assure the mullahs that he was a friend of the Islamic Republic, and that they would be very happy with his policies. The secret channel was Ambassador William G. Miller, who served in Iran during the shah’s rule, as chief of staff for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and as ambassador to Ukraine. Ambassador Miller has confirmed to me his conversations with Iranian leaders during the 2008 campaign.”
As Ledeen points out, and the evidence proves, “The central theme in Obama’s outreach to Iran is his conviction that the United States has historically played a wicked role in the Middle East, and that the best things he can do for that part of the world is to limit and withdraw American military might and empower our self-declared enemies, whose hostility to traditional American policies he largely shares.”
The clock is ticking on the coming indictments that are already rumored to number in the hundreds. The next two months should be quite revealing.
