Elder Patriot – Where once we only heard liberals talk of bridging the political divide we are now regularly inundated by divisive arguments that this group or that group are being unfairly treated. Much, if not all of these political dog whistles have been drummed up for political purposes.
What was once considered discriminatory for holding certain groups back has been replaced by a new definition of discrimination; for not promoting one underperforming group over other demographic groups whose success came after playing by the same rules.
That’s fine in T-ball but nowhere else where you’re product is tested in competitive marketplaces can that be tolerated. Then it is a time to play by big boy rules.
This was Martin Luther King’s hope:
“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”.
The same liberals who cheered Dr. King when he uttered those words in 1963 are now disgusted that President Trump has continued advancing that movement.
The Labor Department released its jobs report on Friday and the numbers were outstanding by anyone’s measure. The unemployment rate for black Americans dropped from the previous record low of 6.6% in April to 5.9% in May. Every minority demographic enjoyed similar success.
You would think that would have members of the mainstream media cheering the policies of President Trump. Not so.
Selected spokesman for the “keep the Black community divided” from President Trump, and the rest of America as well, CNN’s Don Lemon was summoned to action.
Lemon was confronting a tall order but he did manage to make this criticism with a straight face:
“There’s no question today’s job report is good news, including the news that we’re as closest we’ve ever been to full employment in the black community. But what’s full employment without full respect?”
WUT? It is an undeniable truth that respect must be earned and the growing employment opportunities available to everyone, Blacks included, is the key to unlocking the door to respect. Lemon knows this but stirs the cauldron of race-baiting political divisiveness because his corporate masters employ him to do so.
President Trump’s refusal to cave to the quotas demanded by political correctness, and to instead open the doors of opportunity to everyone is paying off as employment opportunities are rising, wages are rising, and the self-esteem of every American is improving.
Every sector of American society is benefitting and the economic boom is providing the opportunity for every individual to earn that respect for himself or herself. This is the first critical step to earning the respect of others.
During that same speech Dr. King also said:
“I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality”.
Why is it that Lemon, and others of his ilk are running a 24/7 disinformation campaign against President Trump’s color-blind approach to governance?
Record Black unemployment stands as evidence that given a chance Blacks can compete with anyone. Why isn’t Lemon celebrating this? This after all, was Dr. King’s dream.
That answer should be evident by now. The Cabal, which Lemon is employed to protect, can only succeed in screwing us when we’re distracted and fighting each other.
