ELDER PATRIOT – As I watched the election returns come in during the early morning hours I began realizing just what Donald Trump had accomplished. He alone challenged the Elites’ vision of our collective futures and he alone is now in position to lift us to great things. As Americans accomplishing great things is in our DNA. It’s what we’ve always come to expect from ourselves and now because of Donald Trump American exceptionalism will once again be nurtured and allowed to guide us.
Trump’s victory was not a miracle. It’s evidence of what an uncommon man can accomplish when he puts his mind to it and pursues it with every fiber of his being. Men and women like this literally dot the American landscape but only every generation or two do one of these people ascend to this level.
In 1980 Herb Brooks led a team of college kids to the Olympic gold medal by defeating the elites of the hockey world that included the mighty Soviet hockey team that had just run roughshod over the teams of the National Hockey League.
Twenty young men pulling together were forced to give of themselves in ways they had never been asked to before by the most uncommon of leaders and in the process they achieved what could only be described as a miracle:
“This cannot be a team of common men because common men go nowhere. You have to be uncommon.”
When Trump found himself trailing in the polls two weeks ago he refused to knuckle under to the drumbeat coming from the mainstream media who were telling the world that it was over for him. Instead, he drove himself harder visiting as many as seven states in a single day. Like those young men that Coach Brooks pushed beyond themselves, Donald Trump pushed him self through a grueling schedule that culminated in a striking victory that will change history.
When Brooks told the elites who ran USA Hockey at the time that he planned on winning the gold medal by instituting a new system they scoffed at him:
USA Hockey board member: “We all know we’re a long shot for medal but we don’t want to get embarrassed either.”
Second board member: “That’s right.”
Brooks: “Bob four years ago our Olympic team lost the Czech “B” team, I think it was 15-1. In all due respect I don’t think we can embarrass ourselves anymore than…”
This is the situation America finds itself today. The elites keep telling us to shut up and accept being less than we can be while they are busy orchestrating the greatest theft in the history of the world – the theft of the unique American spirit.
Yes, they stole tens of trillions of dollars of our hard-earned money and spilled the blood of our young men in unnecessary wars but the greatest damage that they did to America was on display last night at the Javits Convention Center in New York City where Hillary’s supporters had gathered to hear her victory speech.
The convention hall was filled with young snowflakes, aging Marxists and feminists. Their tears were flowing as the news that Donald Trump would be the next president became evident. As the cameras scanned the crowd I wondered who in this delusional group had the ability to even support themselves let alone have the courage and vision to run an organization that demanded leadership of any kind.
Here was a man offering them a better future if only they would believe in themselves but they were too afraid to grab for it because they couldn’t accept the personal responsibility that comes with relying on their own skills to pay for their personal dreams.
Donald Trump has now been handed the reigns of a failed government. For certain there exists an infrastructure that Trump can work with but it will take this uncommon man to fight the forces of the status quo.
Trump has promised to run our government like a business. At the opening of the new Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C. he sounded the theme of his administration and that his new venture stood as a symbol to: “Under budget and ahead of schedule.”
“We turned a property that had been neglected for decades and that was losing huge sums of money for the federal government into a major revenue producer and job creator. This is what I want to do for our country.”
“My job is to look at undeveloped spaces and imagine what they could be. These are spaces that have no hope and that have no future … and to unlock their potential and to unlock the potential of the people working on those spaces and those projects.
“There are so many things we can do for our country.
“Where others have only dead ends I dream of the amazing possibilities that’s why government has turned to me in the past to fix projects that had gone nowhere and that were considered total disasters.”
Donald Trump will soon put his team together just as Herb Brooks did in 1980. And, like Brooks they will be his people not the choices of the establishment elites.
The American people have hired Donald Trump to do a job. It’s time to let him do it.
