Jimmy Kimmel and His “Big Lie”

ELDER PATRIOT – Jimmy Kimmel’s display of emotion while telling of the plight of his newborn child was as fraudulent as Chuck Schumer’s tears were when stating his opposition to President Trump’s Executive Order on immigration.  Schumer’s display of emotion came on the heels of then President Obama’s teary gun control speech.

This is what the Democrats have reduced themselves to.

Out of cogent arguments, the Progressive movement has resorted to crying to stir emotions rather than reason and Democrats are relying on outright lies to move public opinion.

Kimmel’s use of his television show to plea for more government in our lives rather than less puts him more in line with Nazi Propagandist Joseph Goebbels than any serious observer of the consequences of the last seven years of Obamacare should be.

Joseph Goebbels: “The Big Lie”

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Kimmel chose to use his national television audience to make a case for maintaining Obamacare exactly as it is despite the realities that those wanting to maintain their private insurance coverage have largely been priced out of the market over the seven years of government control.

Premiums have skyrocketed, deductibles have increased dramatically, healthcare insurers have either pulled out of the marketplace altogether or cut their payments to providers (doctors and hospitals) so that they no longer accept Obamacare.

The relative health of the overall population means that their exposure to the system is limited if they have any contact with it at all.  This fact “shields them from the consequences” of their compassion.  And, the Obama administration shielded everyone from the economic consequences of the bill that carries his name.

Under orders from President Obama, HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell violated her fiduciary responsibility by diverting funds directly to insurance companies to keep them afloat.

Then, after a court admonished Obama’s HHS Secretary, Obama continued illegally diverting of funds from at least two other sources – The Federal National Mortgage Association and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation.

Fannie and Freddie are publicly traded companies meaning that President Obama stole at least $300 billion from those investors to put off the collapse of his healthcare debacle until he had left office.

Unless and until a full government accounting is done we will never know what Obama’s healthcare debacle really cost.

Despite all of the diversion of funds, the government began rationing services within a few years of the inception of Obamacare.

By June of 2013 news accounts began appearing on alternative news sites that access to life-saving treatments under Obamacare was being widely denied.

In one case Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius wouldn’t intervene in 10-year-old’s fight for a lung transplant.

Kimmel never mentioned this at the time or the other night.

Nancy Pelosi had sworn that Obamacare would be affordable:

Republicans had warned that Obamacare would result in higher costs and rationing and it very quickly did.

Jimmy Kimmel knows all of this and still chose to spread the Big Lie.  Shame on him.

And, shame on anyone else who won’t at least let another party have a go at creating a financially sustainable program that actually delivers real healthcare services to the most needy of Americans.
