The Most Important Reason to Include the Citizenship Question on the Census is…

(The Epoch Times) Attorney General William Barr said the Trump administration can legally add the citizenship question to the 2020 Census.

Elder Patriot – There damned well better be a legal path to including that question because if it’s not included in the census American citizens will have had the rug pulled out from under them by Chief Justice Roberts.

Roberts wrote the decision for the majority – the four leftists and himself:

The Supreme Court ruled 5–4 that the rationale the administration provided for adding the question—that it would enforce the Voting Rights Act—was “contrived,” seeming to block, at least temporarily, the addition of the question.

“We are presented, in other words, with an explanation for agency action that is incongruent with what the record reveals about the agency’s priorities and decision-making process,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote.

What bunk!  In his dissent, Justice Clarence Thomas excoriated the Chief Justice:

Writing the dissenting opinion, Justice Clarence Thomas said that the Supreme Court’s “only role in this case is to decide whether the Secretary complied with the law and gave a reasoned explanation for his decision.”

“Unable to identify any legal problem with the Secretary’s [Commerce Secretary Ross’] reasoning, the Court imputes one by concluding that he must not be telling the truth,” he added.

In Roberts’ infinite wisdom, wisdom that he shares with the entire field of Democrat presidential candidate, healthcare must be available to everyone within the borders of the United States and paid for by taxpayers.

With this decision he completely severs the Constitutional principle that voters have a right to decide for themselves what they’ll authorize payment for and what they won’t/

If that’s his decision, a decision that he usurped from the American people in his Obamacare decision, and that by right belongs to the voters of this Republic, then we need an answer to the citizenship whether Roberts agrees with it or not:

How many illegal aliens are currently resident in the United States?

Whether our feckless Congress ignores their responsibility in this regard, and unless Chief Justice Roberts plans on paying for the healthcare of tens of millions of illegal aliens himself, it will fall upon Congress – meaning it will fall upon the citizens of the United States to pay for it.

Maybe Barr can tell the Chief Justice to take his head out of his ass.  His decisions have real world consequences.
