ELDER PATRIOT – The most racially divisive president of the past one hundred years has finally been recognized as the most religiously divisive president in the history of America, as well.
Whether President Obama is secretly Muslim or not will be left for future historians to argue about. But, what is undeniable has been Obama’s policies promoting and protecting Islam at every opportunity while belittling and marginalizing Christians for their belief in God.
Over the course of his eight years in office he was more careful not to alienate the American Jewish community because they are reliably Democrat voters and they contribute money to the Democratic Party – lots and lots of money. But, there were indications of his hostility towards Israel that began with forcing Prime Minister Netanyahu, who was on an official state visit, to enter the White House through a rear door and then making him wait while Obama ate dinner with his wife and children.
Now that Obama is free of any personal political reliance on Jewish Americans he threw Israel under the bus by organizing and then refusing to veto a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlements on the West Bank. The West Bank had previously been under Jordanian control and had been used by Palestinian guerillas to stage terrorist attacks in Israel under direction from Egypt and Syria.
Jordan’s King Hussein viewed the PLO, due to their alignment with the more virulently military anti-Israel Arab nations, as a threat to his power and he feared that the PLO might try to depose him or launch attacks directly on Israel with help from other more aggressive Arab nations that he would be blamed for.
Forced into a corner the Jordanian king aligned with the other Arab nations allowing Egypt’s announcement that:
“The armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are poised on the borders of Israel…to face the challenge, while standing behind us are the armies of Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan and the whole Arab nation. This act will astound the world. Today they will know that the Arabs are arranged for battle, the critical hour has arrived. We have reached the stage of serious action and not declarations.”
Israel, a nation slightly smaller than New Jersey at the time, launched a pre-emptive attack after its generals concluded it would be impossible to defend itself if the enemy was allowed to strike first.
Six days later the war was over. Israel had seized control of land areas that more than tripled its previous size. This included the West Bank an area of a little under 2,200 square miles but of immense strategic importance to the tiny nation.
The moderate King Hussein of Jordan had been caught in a war he wanted no part of advancing a terrorist organization (PLO) that he’d prefer to see gone so he willingly ceded the land to Israel renouncing all claim to the area as part of the peace terms.
This is what Obama is intent on reversing. If the U.N. were to be successful it would turn the Jewish Holy Land and Jerusalem over to the Palestinian Authority that has no historical claims to the land except those imagined by those opposed to Israel’s existence in its entirety.
Obama has departed from previous presidents who, despite exhaustive attempts to broker a lasting peace between the PLO and Israel, realized that there was only one entity willing to actually negotiate at the table – Israel. The PLO, a tiny organization weaponized by massive infusions of our petro dollars, as well as arms from hostile Arab nations, has steadfastly refused to accept or negotiate on any of the peace terms the Israelis have offered.
Their recalcitrance became so transparent that Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu once remarked, “The truth is that if Israel were to put down its arms there would be no more Israel. If the Arabs were to put down their arms there would be no more war.”
Instead of acknowledging the PLO’s intransigence Obama has taken the side of Arab hardliners that are determined to destroy the tiny nation state by laying the foundation for an economic war on Israel through a global movement to boycott Israeli products, divest of investments in Israeli companies and companies that do business with Israel, and that would put other economic sanctions on the Middle East’s only democratic nation.
This latest action by Obama has finally awakened the Jewish people in America to the fact that Obama is not their friend. This was driven home last night when Rabbi Levi Shemtov, handpicked by the Obama administration to light the National Hanukkah Menorah, refused to remain silent any longer and turned on the president saying that because of Obama’s acquiescence to the demands of radical extremists we “are working in a place where there is great grief and darkness…we look forward to the day when there will be no more darkness, there will be no more evil, there will be no more disappointment.”
Obama’s war on religion – other than Islam –was driven home by reports from Aleppo that now that Syrian forces – forces that Obama had opposed – had regained control of the city war-weary Christians were able to celebrate a Christmas Mass amid the ruins of the bombed-out St. Elias Cathedral.
Obama may have wanted to bridge the cultural divide between Islam and our Judeo-Christian culture but the end result of his actions is a world so divided along conflicting religious ideologies that governments are now resorting to banning free speech to quell the growing insurrection.
Whatever his intentions might have been Obama must be held accountable for a nation divided along racial lines and a world divided along religious lines.
