Desperate Dems Have Been Left Searching For a Crime

ELDER PATRIOT – Try as he might, Democrat Mark Warner, the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee could not get any one of the four senior Intelligence officials testifying before him to accuse President Trump of anything close to obstructions of justice.  One by one, each Democrat to question them came up empty, as well.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats said he had never “felt pressure to intervene or interfere in any way ” with any ongoing investigation.

NSA Director Mike Rogers gave this opening statement and then refused to be drawn into a hypothetical discussion much to the Democrats’ dismay: “In the three-plus years that I have been the director of the National Security Agency, to the best of my recollection, I have never been directed to do anything I believed to be illegal, immoral, unethical or inappropriate. And to the best of my recollection, during that same period of service, I do not recall ever feeling pressured to do so.”

Acting F.B.I. Director Andrew McCabe reiterated his previous testimony before the House committee where he said that President Trump had never impeded or pressured him in any way regarding the investigation into him or his possible connections to Russia or, with any other investigation.

Assistant Attorney General Rod Rosenstein also testified that he had never been pressured by Trump or any member of his administration, regarding this, or any other investigation.

This is now an impeachment in search of a crime.

Democrats, realizing that their entire obstruction of justice narrative was crumbling in front of them, desperately turned their questioning to whether Trump ever asked about specifics of the Russia investigation.

It’s hard to fathom what they were hoping to uncover with that line of questioning considering that disgraced former F.B.I. Director James Comey had made clear on three separate occasions that Trump was not the target of any investigation tying him to Russia.

What about Trump’s inquiries, if there were any, into Trump’s associates and Russia?

What is inappropriate about any president asking any member of the Intelligence Committee about the trustworthiness of any person that president has put, or plans to put, his faith in?

Democrat voters are generally driven by emotion rather than logic but this will not escape independent voters who will be the deciders of the 2018 elections.

As the Democrats advance one successive accusation after another, suggesting that somewhere 9oh please anywhere) an impeachable offense had been committed by President Trump, it is becoming increasingly clear that they are in search of a crime without even the slightest evidence that anything improper happened.

Using the incredible powers vested in them by the voters, Congressional Democrats have turned the American ideal of innocent until proven guilty, inside out.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they spent a fraction of this time, money and effort, applying the same investigative standards to the Islamic extremists they have commandeered your tax dollars to import, house, feed and clothe?
