Democrats Coalition Torn Apart by First- Term Congresswomen – Pelosi Cannot Garner Support to Condemn Anti-Semitism – Loses Control to Freshmen

Elder Patriot – On Wednesday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi had scheduled a resolution rebuking freshman Congresswoman Ilhan Omar resolution rafter she had made anti-Semitic comments.

Rep. Omar had tweeted on Feb. 10 that congressional support of Israel was “all about the Benjamins, baby,” a reference to a 1997 rap song by Puff Daddy. When Batya Ungar-Sargon, the opinion editor of The Forward newspaper, asked Omar who she thought “is paying American politicians to be pro-Israel,” the congresswoman answered: “AIPAC!” – H/T Fox News

Omar has a history of spewing anti-Semitic tropes.  In 2012, Omar tweeted that “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”

Pelosi was attempting to use a strong condemnation of Omar to cover the growing anti-Semitic perception surrounding her party.

Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) outrageous comments offended and alienated the Democrats’ Jewish members, two of which are Committee chairs Adam Schiff and Jerrold Nadler who are running the House’s Witch-Hunt of President Trump, the Trump Organization, Trump’s family, and anyone who ever had a cup of coffee with Trump..

Coming to Rep. Omar’s defense were fellow freshmen Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI), the first Palestinian-American congresswoman, and the celeb progressive Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.).

Pelosi’s attempt to hide the inherent strain of anti-Jewish sentiment within the Democratic Party failed… miserably.

Instead, a watered down measure passed “condemning anti-Semitism, discrimination against Muslims and other bigotry against minorities.”

So much for the Democrats “Big Tent” working in unison to get anything substantive accomplished.

Since the resolution passed we have come to learn the role that radical Islamist and Sharia advocate, Linda Sarsour played in having the resolution reworded.

“Friends, our supporters, you know the Women’s March we’re going through some rough times and if you know anything about this past week, I’m going to give you some ideas of what we did this week. So, many of you know that our sister Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was under attack.

“And you know being able to mobilize progressive leaders across the country to sign on to a letter to organize a press conference in support of Ilhan Omar to call on the Democratic leadership to actually expand the language of the resolution to include condemning all forms of bigotry because that’s the kind of movement we’re apart of.”

There’s little argument that Speaker Pelosi lost this round to Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, all freshmen members of her caucus, along with a big push from Linda Sarsour.

The greatest story the mainstream media will never tell you about is how the iron-fisted Pelosi lost control of her caucus in just two months… and to a small group of radical, freshmen leftists at that!

This is not your father’s Democratic Party.
