Elder Patriot – Really? Nothing like being paid for your testimony to build trust in the veracity of a witness. Having sat through many interrogations in the past, the first thing a witness is asked by opposing counsel is, “are you being paid for being here today?”
Now, the New York Times has admitted details like that doesn’t matter to them, at least when there was the potential to bury Donald Trump under an avalanche of lies and innuendo.
In the waning days of the presidential campaign the Times seemed to be gleefully reporting the stories of women coming forward to accuse then-candidate Donald Trump of sexual assault.
John Bowden writing for The Hill provides the details that the Times finally admitted ignoring back in the fall of 2016 when they didn’t disclose all the facts behind the accusers:
Prominent Democratic donors gave at least $700,000 to women’s rights lawyer Lisa Bloom in the final stretch of the 2016 presidential race as she sought to publicize sexual misconduct allegations against Donald Trump, according to The New York Times.
American Bridge, a group associated with Democratic operative and longtime Clinton ally David Brock, gave $200,000 to the effort, sources told the Times. Fashion entrepreneur Susie Tompkins Buell, who has donated to Brock’s groups, gave Bloom another $500,000.
The Times claims that the efforts did not result in any women coming forward something they couldn’t have known at the time since they had remained mute on the facts in the first place.
The Hill’s John Solomon and Alison Spann first reported the Times deliberate malfeasance last month when they reported:
“California lawyer Lisa Bloom’s efforts included offering to sell alleged victims’ stories to TV outlets in return for a commission for herself, arranging a donor to pay off one Trump accuser’s mortgage and attempting to secure a six-figure payment for another woman who ultimately declined to come forward after being offered as much as $750,000, the clients told The Hill.”
David Brock is the founder of Media Matters, a high sounding name for an operation that specializes in political hit jobs. Media Matters regularly misquotes some Republicans and quotes others out of context. Worse, they have been caught on multiple occasions cutting and splicing audio and video to manufacture a damning quote for a political target.
Naturally, Brock is a longtime ally of Hillary Clinton.
Lisa Bloom bills herself as a feminist attorney but her acceptance of millions of dollars from Harvey Weinstein with which she offered bribes to silence his accusers belies the reality of any such assertions. There is no level of depravity she wouldn’t negotiate with to advance the Dems’ Marxist agenda.
There’s virtually no limit to how low Democrats will go to ruin a person’s life if it can get them one seat closer to controlling the American treasury.
