BREAKING: D.A.G. Rosenstein Plans to Leave the Justice Department Following Barr Confirmation

Elder Patriot  – CNN is reporting that the man overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation plans to step aside as soon as the Senate confirms President Trump’s nominee for Attorney General.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has been under fire from President Trump’s supporters ever since he wrote a letter to the president calling for then-FBI Director James Comey’s firing and then turning around and appointing a special counsel to investigate Trump for obstruction after the firing.

Others will point to Russian collusion as the reason Rosenstein appointed the special counsel, but an impartial review of the evidence used to justify such a decision cannot support the appointment.

Even if Rosenstein determined that the seriousness of the charges demanded a more complete investigation, the inability of Mueller and his team to turn up any credible evidence against President Trump would’ve led an unbiased D.A.G. to dissolve the investigation if only for the good of the nation.

Instead, Rosenstein allowed Mueller to continue digging into President Trump’s affairs without any justifying predicate crime.  Rosenstein more took on the persona of Stalin’s chief of police, Lavrentiy Beria, than an American D.A.G. committed to upholding the Constitution.

Expect desperate Senate Democrats to stall the confirmation of Trump’s nominee for AG, William Barr as long as procedurally possible.

When George H.W. Bush nominated Barr for attorney general in 1991, the Judiciary Committee unanimously confirmed him, with the approval of then-Chairman Joe Biden, a Democrat from Delaware.

The Senate, which had a 57-seat Democratic majority at the time, confirmed Barr by a simple voice vote.

Despite Barr’s stellar service since then, the Democrats have already signaled their intentions through tweets from Senator Patrick Leahy:

Protect the special counsel and uphold the rule of law?  How is that possible? It’s been clear for sometime that the special counsel was appointed to circumvent the rule of law:

♦(1) Create an investigation – Just by creating the investigation it is then used as a shield by any corrupt FBI/DOJ official who would find himself/herself under downstream congressional investigation.  Former officials being deposed/questioned by IG Horowitz or Congress could then say they are unable to answer those questions due to the ongoing special counsel investigation. In this way Mueller provides cover for ideologically aligned deep state officials.

♦(2)  Use the investigation to keep any and all inquiry focused away from the corrupt DOJ and FBI activity that took place in 2015, 2016, 2017.  Keep the media narrative looking somewhere, anywhere, other than directly at the epicenter of the issues. In this way, Mueller provides distraction and talking points against the Trump administration.

♦(3) Use the investigation to suck-up, absorb, any damaging investigative material that might surface as a result of tangentially related inquiry.  Example: control the exposure of evidence against classified leak participants like SSCI Director of Security, James Wolfe; and/or block IG Horowitz from seeing material related to the FISA abuse scandal and “spygate”.  In this way Mueller provides cover for the institutions and the administrative state.

Even though Rosenstein has ultimately been the manager of the cover-up of the institutional corruption that was planted inside the DOJ and FBI under the Obama administration, Trump supporters should not get their hopes up that this resignation will change things.

We’ve been misled and disappointed too many times in the past.
