New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo is being championed by his comrades on the left as a potential replacement for their party’s presumptive presidential nominee, the cognitively impaired Joe Biden.
Gov. Cuomo has used the coronavirus pandemic to explode onto the Democrat stage.
That’s understandable since Gov. Cuomo has the prerequisite willingness to trash Donald Trump – an absolute must for leftists who have no acceptable policies to run on so they must have their need to believe Orange man bad fulfilled – and the ability to string cogent sentences together.
Admittedly, that’s not a very high bar, but then what do you expect from a party whose final two candidates wound up being a sixties burnout espousing Marxism and a corrupt lifetime denizen of the swamp with cognitive disabilities?
The problem for Gov. Cuomo, he’s a fraud who plays fast and loose with the facts knowing that the fawning Marxist media will protect him.
Here is New York’s governor, only two days ago, expressing his outrage because he needs 30,000 ventilators immediately.
Gov. Cuomo: FEMA says they’re sending 400 ventilators. Really? What am I going to do with 400 ventilators when I need 30,000? You pick the 26,000 people who are going to die because you only sent 400 ventilators!
That sound bite was red meat for the hate Trump crowd, but it didn’t square with what else he said during the same presser.
At the time we reported that during the full presser, Gov. Cuomo explained N.Y. state’s immediate need for ventilators. It wasn’t 30,000 ventilators… not even close.
The governor stated himself that less than 800 patients were in ICU units in NY State where ventilators are necessary and he had over 300 ventilators. Patients in his state have an immediate need for over 400 ventilators.
Cuomo’s false outrage was exposed for all to see… all who are interested in the facts, anyway… after President Trump ordered FEMA to send an additional 4,000 ventilators to New York and they had already been received as Cuomo was forced to admit when asked where they were, at the presser he held yesterday:
Gov. Cuomo: Yes, they’re in a stockpile because that’s where they’re supposed to be because we don’t need them yet.
At that same press conference, Cuomo echoed President Trump’s claim that we’re at war. We are at war, which gives President Trump every reason to ration national stockpiles to be distributed, as needed, to as fifty states.
Throughout it all, Cuomo was never questioned by the hate-Trump media why his state, a state he’s been governor of since 2011, failed to build its own stockpiles as per FEMA and CDC directives:
From FEMA.gov’s biological incident annex:
State, tribal, territorial, and local governments are primarily responsible for detecting and responding to disease outbreaks and implementing measures to minimize the health, social, and economic consequences of such an outbreak.
“HHS serves as the Federal Government’s primary agency for the public health and medical preparation and planning for and response to a biological terrorism attack or naturally occurring outbreak that results from either a known or novel pathogen, including an emerging infectious disease. State, local, and tribal governments are primarily responsible for detecting and responding to disease outbreaks and implementing measures to minimize the health, social, and economic consequences of such an outbreak.”
The federal stockpile is intended to serve as a reserve, something Cuomo ignored back in 2015, following a previous pandemic, when the New York State Department of Health acknowledged the need for a 16,000 stockpile of ventilators.
More appropriately, Cuomo should be lambasting leadership within his own party for the irresponsible and aggressive direction they provided their constituents that has made New York the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States:
Thanks to that advice, New York State and New Jersey is now home to 53% of all infected persons in the United States.
Of course, if Cuomo fixed blame where it belongs any chance of becoming Joe Biden’s replacement would go up in smoke.
